Hello all. My wife and I are the new owners of a modified 1967 Charger, originally owned by her father. He passed away in December and the car was passed down to her. The car spent most of it's life in Michigan in the Detroit area, until my in-laws moved to Florida in 2016.

At some point in it's history before my in-laws purchased it the original 318-2bbl was removed and a 1965 426 "street wedge" RB was shoved under the hood. A 727 with a manual valve body & reverse shift pattern was installed at that time as well.

As a result of an accident in 2011, the car was stripped down and restored by Lightnen's Custom shop in Goodrich, MI during the spring & summer of 2012. Where possible, all OEM parts were used during the restoration.

The 426 was pulled in 2013 and gone through by Mueller's machine shop of Auburn, MI in 2013. The block was decked but not bored (according to the paperwork it was already .030 over), as pistons for the wedge motors are difficult to find evidently. New valves & seats were installed in the heads, the crank was balanced, and the rotating assembly was balanced. It currently has an Edelbrock 440 intake with a Holley 6709 4bbl carb.

The car has been sitting for most of a year since it's last long trip: a run to the Don Garlits museum for a show. During that run it overheated, but he was able to get the car home again.

The car will be moving from Florida to Missouri, after a tuneup and a rebuild of the Holley. Long-term plans include replacing the manual shift 727 with a streetable automatic, probably one from Performance Automatics. We'll probably leave the wedge in place.

According to the fender tag, it did have factory A/C. I don't know how much of the original A/C equipment is still on the car. The heater has been bypassed and the engine doesn't have an A/C compressor installed.

Welcome from Ct. Like the pictures. Changing valve body no big deal. One thing you need throttle pressure control linkage aka kickdown linkage is a must. Keep us posted.

Spectacular blue color on that upper driver side quarter panel picture with the Chrome Charger emblem sitting High & Mighty. The interiors of these I like more & more. Good to have you aboard, from Illinoise.
