Decided to post a thread on this maybe some of you will enjoy to take a peak at what I've been doing over the last few months.
Feel free to skip to the pictures if you like lol. So the back story...My cars a 1969 Plymouth Satellite mild 318, 904, 8 1/4 rear. I bought it almost exactly 6 years ago today (May 2010). I was 18 at the time living in New Jersey. Fast forward 2 years in 2012, after saving up from buying the car I found a long block 383 with a fresh rebuild literally 10 minutes down the road so I bought but quickly realized I wanted a 440. So I bought a 66' 440 that while at the machine shop we discovered it was a reverse rotation boat motor...great.. The machinist suggested I should find another 440 as there was a lot of rust from saltwater in the block. So I started searching for another 440. Sure enough I found a Muscle Motor crate engine 440-498 stroker still sitting in the crate about an hour away. Now fast forward again after moving twice (North Dakota and again to Tennessee) along with life getting in the way I am finally getting this all done. I pulled the engine back in December, while it was out I sanded it down and painted it. I've been buying some of the small things over the last few years but I just ordered a converter from PTC last month and its suppose to be here next week. Once that's here I'll put the engine and trans in and then the only big thing left that I need to buy is a Dana 60. Now time for some pictures sorry to keep ya waiting!

Nice job on the engine bay paint.
Now wait until you get the big tire bug and you want the big fatties out back.

Thanks I was really happy with how it turned out. My dad painted the car a few years ago but it wasn't the best I kinda wish I had done it instead lol..sorry dad. The only thing I've painted was my old w150 a couple years ago and it came out pretty good for a farm truck. I wouldn't mind having some fatties on the back but I like the look of small tires like everyone's doing lately. So that is kind of my plan run some 9.5 or 10" wide slick. We'll see how it hooks this is all a learning experience for me.

Make sure to put a torque strap on that beast.

Yea I have been leaning towards the manici racing one if I go that route otherwise I've always debated running an engine plate I even picked up a shaved waterpump housing in Carlisle a few years ago. But my dad says I shouldn't lol.

looking great keep us posted on your progress

Finally got my converter in the mail today. It's 9.5" its suppose to lock up around 2900-3000rpm with my setup. Now the next big step is to get the engine in! But first I was wondering what everyone prefers for trans mounts? Poly or rubber? I assume poly is better and last longer just figured I would ask. Still debating a motor plate. If I don't I'll need new mounts anyways... Is a plate too much for a weekend cruiser? I've heard some guys complain your fillings will vibrate out of your mouth.

My PTC shows up today! My motor is 590hp. I went with poly tranny mount.

Awesome I am looking forward to seeing how it performs! I was surprised they called Wednesday saying they were packing it up to ship out that day and than Thursday afternoon it showed up. Granted I'm just 6 hours or so away. It looks well built from the outside anyways lol. Just hopefully in the next week or two I'll have it together. I see the local auto stores carry the poly mount for the 727 so I think I'll pick one up this weekend while I'm out.

Measure it against your old one. Mine was .25 taller and caused some interference with my GV OD. Stock tranny should be ok.

Oh really? I think mine should be fine as it's the stock bellhousing but I will go check it. I bought 7/16 grade 8 bolts on my way home today to mount it since my old ones were too small for the converter

I can see where you might have issues it's pretty close
