A few years ago we had a fairly bad ice storm that took out power for most of the state including Houston and the surrounding area. This one isn't supposed to be as bad and isn't supposed to cover past the northern part of Houston. We'll see. If the weather reports says differently tomorrow, I'll take precautions....

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM FRIDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH LATE
SATURDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Moderate to heavy accumulations of snow, sleet, or ice are
likely across the region Friday through Saturday night. In
addition, dangerous cold temperatures are expected Saturday night
through Monday morning.

* WHERE...All of North and Central Texas.

* WHEN...From Friday afternoon through late Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...Roads, especially bridges and overpasses, will likely
become dangerous. Significant ice accumulation on power lines and
tree limbs may cause power outages. Extreme cold will become life
threatening and likely damage unprotected pipes and put livestock
at risk.

68 in the shop with the back overhead open and 65 under the carport where the back overhead is.....and got a 1/2" of badly needed rain! Supposed to be 70 for a high tomorrow. Fine....prime us for the hard chill this weekend :(

High teens to low 20s at night here and a high from mid 30s to mid 40s. Snow a plenty on the Sierras out my back door. At times breezy which brings the wind chill into play. Today as very overcast but no precip in the forecast. Most days is bright and sunny so that makes it all the more tolerable. Good news about this is even at 5100ft elevation, the days are getting longer!!! Gotta like that...cr8crshr/Bill :thumbsup::thumbsup: :usflag: :usflag: :usflag:

66 in the shop and raining.....fire is still going though so it's not raining like a double cunted cow pissing on a flat rock....

A couple inches of light fluff tonight in NH right now. Should be able to clean it off with the backpack blower tomorrow morning. A big storm is due to come in Sunday afternoon & go through Monday morning. Ugh.

The day before yesterday we had the worst blizzard I’ve seen in my more then fifty years of living here. The temp rose to minus seven which brought 80kph winds with huge fluffy snow flakes blowing horizontally and zero visibility

.

Right now it is calm, -39 here by the lake and probably -42 or so at daughters place further inland, without the pussy windchill. That is cold. Very, very cold.
