We called it Skeeching ! Same thing just a variation of the name ! It was a lot of fun unless you hit a dry spot, which you couldn't see.

Yup, did that in Buffalo. We just called it "hitching"

Interesting. I always thought the term came from combining skiing and hitching.

This brings back memories. Yes, we did this up in the Pocono mountains in PA - if I remember correctly behind my buddies Dart.

Woke up the next day with a lot of black and blue after wiping out and rolling into the ditch at 30+ MPH!

fun stuff, we ended up graduating to my buddy hood off his blown up vista cruiser, upside down with a 20ft rope tied to a bumper of his older brothers maverick. Had4 of us on it flying down the dirt roads in the neighborhood, flew around a corner headed right for a big oak tree, everyone was bailing off wrapped the hood right around it, amazing we made it through all those years of wildness.
