I used to give everyone here the benefit of the doubt when selling parts as far as shipping parts before receiving payment but no more. I won't mention names because there could be a legitimate excuse like lost they're phone and quit visiting FBBO even thought they still have parts listed for sale?????????????? I'm out $45.00 that I paid to ship the parts and of course the parts which really pisses me off because selling these parts is one of the ways I fund getting my car done. Seeing how he quit answering my text, phone calls and now quit visiting FBBO I have to assume he's not going to pay. Point is DON'T TRUST ANYONE.

Sorry man. Going through the same **** on a bike motor I dropped 500 on. Guy is off the map.

It's a shame people have to be such effn scum bags. There is some relief in karma.

Jeesh...
I'm ALWAYS afraid I have forgotten to pay some one OR...forgotten to ship to some one because I am always so busy!

But; Not answering PMs, e-mails and phone messages, that is a indicator/FLAG...

747mopar: Name a name. If the member has a legitimate excuse let him come on here and post it. Otherwise let everyone know in case he shows up here or on other sites down the road. People need to find out about 'consequences' for their actions...

That really is a bad deal... What ever happened to a man's word is his bond? Rhetorical question, I know.

Yep...Give us a name and location. It is the most important tool we have as a group here on FBBO to keep the "riff raff" out and the honest ones in. I can only speak for my self but I never send anything out until either Pay Pal has been received or in the case of USPS Money Orders, it is in hand. I will even take a personal check but will not ship until it has cleared the Bank. I am always amazed at the many times this type of thing comes up. Just pisses me off when I hear of it. :angryfire:I have a pretty darn good reputation here when it comes to my buying and selling and always take the time to do it right or make it right for that matter if there is a problem. But give us the name and location. You would be surprised at how really small the MOPAR world really is...cr8crshr/Tuck:angry1:

Like I said I don't want to jump the gun incase there is a legitimate excuse. As of now he hasn't been on since he stopped taking my calls so it does seam fishy to me. I've seen these post go ugly when someone actually did have a legitimate excuse so what I'll do is wait until I see he's been logged in, at that time I know he's gotten my P.M and if no answer then I'll post the name.

I remember years ago I had sold something a high dolor item had no problem taking a check went to the bank and they wouldn't`t honor it said his bank had insufficient funds ,drove across the state went to the local police station ,they went with me to his place of employment ,the security officers from his plant brought him out ,we went to his bank ,found out it was a screw up by a teller at his branch ,got my money plus some for my hassles ,pour guy felt like **** with all that happened ,don't no if he banked there any more with them,

Exactly, sometimes it's an honest mistake. He's online right now so we'll see.

no excuse on this earth not to return a PM or phone call, except for death or a coma

1- Get money

2- Ship parts

He contacted me and said his truck had been broken into and everything including his phone was stolen so that would explain the unreturned calls and texts (it was a new #). He said he'll check to see if the check was cashed and call me back tomorrow to settle it. This was his first time logged in since the sale and he did contact me so maybe just maybe it's all legit. This is why I wanted to be patient (if it pans out).

Yeah, yeah, yeah, lesson learned I get it.

I have also heard of a case of non-shipment where after the information was posted on the forum, a member who lived close to that area went to his house to find out that the person had died. The Heirs worked with the buyer to make things right and ship the desired parts and throw end some extras in addition.
Sometimes you just have to post the information and fight with it.
Sometimes someone also knows some of the back story.

I find this forum very valuable for knowledge AND parts. For me, my word is my bond, and I am happy to pay first and receive parts later. However, that puts me at risk. But there has to be trust somewhere, so when a deal goes bad the forum here should work to help and protect the person who got screwed.

Having said all that, I applaud 747mopar for being a bit patient before he flamed the guy. Stuff can happen, and when it does, it is all about setting it right. Hopefully the guy is working to do that.

good luck 747mopar,
I hope all works out for you

I hope it works out for ya bud! You are one of the good guys on hear and would be nice to know a fellow member did meet with something that's made this happen, Im the same way with trusting and its got me in a lot of problems, especially with my wife, shes as bad as a bank now if i sell something and even worse when i just give it away and a few times paid shipping, she can be down right mad as good as she is... Good luck!

Just an FYI, just because the check clears does not mean your bank can not come back on you for the money. Banks have an unlimited time to challenge transactions normally you have 60 - 90 days. Personally I would recommend postal money orders as you can confirm thier issue, easy to purchase, inexpensive, post offices are everywhere and if some one try's to counterfeit the USPS will go after them.

I had a similar experience only on the buyers side. I sent my money and the parts were to be "In the process". When they didn't show I called the seller and he said that he was behind and gave me a new date. You guessed it, the parts still didn't show. At this time he stopped answering all forms of communication. It was as if he disappeared. I tried off and on over a few weeks and then gave up. About 3 months later I called just to see what would happen and he answered the phone. He was very apologetic and had been in the hospital. No details but he was very ill. He seemed relieved that I called and stated that he had lost my phone number and other contact info and that the parts were packaged and ready to ship. I didn't have much faith in his word, but the parts showed in short order. I now believe the story 100%. Truthfully, I doubt you will have a fair outcome, but there is always hope that your customer will come through with the money.

Good luck!

Well as you know he got in contact with me yesterday and wanted my Paypal address so he could get it squared away. Still waiting and no longer responding again. I don't know about you guys but when I buy something I take care of the transaction right away and if something went wrong I'd feel like **** and put in a solid effort to set it right. Getting really sick of this crap.
