Hey guys, what brand gel are you using to sonic check your blocks with? Part number and supplier if possible. Thanks

Believe it or not KY jelly is suppose to be pretty much the same thing. The secretary where I used to work looked at us kind of funny when we told to her to go get some KY Jelly and Isopropyl Alchohol to use in the shop, she didn't believe us when we told her what it was for.

It's not a magic potion so you can use KY Jelly or even aloe gel from the drugstore.
all it does is bridge the gap between the transducer and the part. I worked for G.E.,
and we used to do all of our U.T. inspections on turbine rotors with 50W oil. Cheap,
and does the job. You can go on Flea-Bay and buy some for a not-too-bad price!

I use Dow corning 111 as a coupling compound for transducer mounting! I might try the ky at least it has more uses!
