Took my 74 Road Runner out for the first time this year and noticed it was pegging out. Looking at some older threads (Nacho's was the most informative) it appears the return spring has STB. Looks like I'll have to send out for repair and calibration. Can someone recommend a place that does this? My local shop (Connecticut Speedometer is no longer in business). PS - I saw the December 2021 Mopar Action, but that concerns the calibration. Thanks in advance.

did you pull out the cable and hook it back up? Mine was jumping and it was that the cable slid out some and wasnt hooked all the way.

I read that recommendation in another thread. Haven't not tried that yet but I will definitely try that as it's easy enough. Thank you.

Hey Ron, i just got my ralley gauges back from Mr. Heaterbox for my Duster, he did a great job. I had him re-face and re-calibrate all my gauges.. Rich

Thanks. I think my plan is to remove a speedometer from a parts cluster and send that to be done and when that's ready, R&R then send the original out to be done. I gotta see if the odometer reading is an issue. I have 3 cars so having a good spare is insurance.

I will look into mr heaterbox.
Plus I gotta try the disconnect trick.

Also try lubricating the inner cable. Nothing waxy or too stiff and gooey.

A pegging out needle has nothing to do with speedo wire, even less if odo keeps reading. You simply got the nylon bushing broken and return spring loosen due this reason.

There is not a mechanical link betwen speedo needle and speedo wire. The odo is thought

Hi Rich. I'm interested in using Mr Heaterbox. What was the turnaround time and what shipper did you use to ship to them as they are in Canada? Thanks

hey Ron, it was around 6-8 weeks if i remember correctly, I used fed-Ex and i double boxed it really good so it was a big box with lots of bubble wrap..it was $87 bucks shipping... since your only sending a speedo it shouldnt be too bad...
