That center spring assists on pedal at last half of throw. Too much for the Centerforce thus needs to be removed. But it also assists on the last half of pedal coming up. Why many of us have the clutch pedal sagging in the throw after conversion to the diaphragm and spring removal. Without spring removal? on a beefy spring Borg & Beck style? The last half of the pedal would be hard to push.
The advantage of the Centerforce diaphragm is that it incorporates centrifugal force from RPM to lock up pressure plate to disc. Which is said to increase longevity. My GTX has one. First time using. I have to give it a thumbs up to this point.
