Yes they are
I'll bet 90% of GTXs had them, but Baby Blue didn't. Original owner didn't order the light package. It was A01 in '69, don't know the code offhand for '68. I was surprised not to see them, after he coughed up $100 for a vinyl top. All my other GTXs had the bullets. The early '69s had the squared off Dodge style. Chrysler changed back to bullets early on, when it was discovered the hood scoop hid the center mounted indicator. The Demonstrator had square ones from the factory, switched to bullets when the original fenders were replaced with NOS. The Demonstrator is shown with original fenders, in 1971.

my instrument cluster has black cloth electrical tape over the turn signal indicator holes...... stops any light from coming through, and makes it impossible to install a bulb.

I kinda like the idea of having both, I'll probably remove the tape

My Barracuda had the light package with hood mounted indicators, but the ones in the dash worked as well.

I had both working when I got pulled over in Carlisle. That didn't stop me from getting cited, but it did help me beat the ticket in court. :D

My 71 340 Cuda had the fender mounted turn signals.....iirc, the Cuda hood blocked the right side signal but the 6 pac hood I put on it for sure did.

Don't feel to bad, I have a 66 Satellite that was a started restoration in 1990. It seems something always got in front of it. So it still sits. It's one of 2 projects that I haven't finished. I also found a 67 GTX 440 4-speed within the last year that I have bought about 7K in parts for that needs to be started on, so that's 3. Most of us have more projects than we will get done.
When you're perpetually broke (and I mean more than $$$ broke), just getting one "done" is a friggin blessing.
I'm blessed for sure, but there are no others waiting on me now.
