After the previous two layers of paint were stripped from the body of my '72 SSP yesterday, I went back to the body shop this morining to find the first coat of paint they sprayed was an army green color primer. I can't explain wny, but it kind of reminded me of plastic. What is that stuff?

Update to above post. Retrieved the empty primer can from the body shop trash. Looks to be a olive green nitrocellulose alkyd automotive primer with dilution recommended between 1:1 and 1:1.5 with thinner. Brand name is "Excelo" licensed by Sherwin Williams and made in Mexico. Name on label: "Primer Universal Primario Nitro-Alquidalico 7100".

Looks like a self-etching primer. There was some I used 15 years ago, went by the name of 715 or something like that.
