Bought a .557 purple shaft solid with lifters, several years ago, broke it in recently with the inners removed, and a mix of old racing oil (new, but lots of zinc) diesel oil, and lucas breakin additive. No problems.
I would NOT buy the purple shaft again, however. Their prices have gone absolutely insane. I think i paid under $200 for cam and lifters, now almost $500?
Next cam i buy will be a solid lunati.
I think comp grinds every cam on 110, no matter what it is for.Have a little more exhaust duration, but seems to be about it.
Their version of the stock hp cam has 110 LSA , vs stock 114. Should make more power but won’t idle like original

And today’s purple shaft is not yesterday’s purple shaft - they changed the grinds a few years ago. Im guessing the old specs must be out there and you could always get a custom grind to match.

5 posts since within a 12 hour period? You're certainly doing real good at that aren't you?
I liked the 2330 cam, 2 different 440 challengers about 17 years ago or so, with the stock 906 heads and “six pack” pistons they sure made good power.I'm well outside your 5 year rule and still voted. replaced cam in a stock bottom end, ported heads done at same time. Hughes 2330 cam, followed their directions for break in, as always with every oil change a can of STP. And I've been running great for 20K+ miles. Good Luck
I have a comp. cams in my engine. Custom grind on a 113 LSA since I’m running HP manifolds.yeah nearly all of their stuff is 110, but they have some other LSAs
their 484 & 509 is 108 like the purple cam
Okay, okay, I'm just messing around a bit...
Bullet was a nice cam. I've had two Comp 'XE' Cams that had too much casting flash between the lobes for my liking
