Since several have brought up the 1st Amendment, I decided to do some research even though I already knew what the answer would be. There's lots of info out there and I suppose some if not many will interpret things differently.....and I didn't read everything and am no lawyer by a long shot. Everything can be litigated and sometimes it is. Btw, this is for info only and is not intended to be turned into political comment. Just wanted to put this out here so everyone can see it and if anyone wants to turn it political, do it in the PF please. Thanks.

The First Amendment protects individuals from government censorship. Social media platforms are private companies, and can censor what people post on their websites as they see fit.

If only those that think it applies in every venue out there, it is clearly stated as you have pointed out Cranky. It appears to me that those mouthing off about how their 1st Amendment rights are being violated, maybe should just either learn about our Bill of Rights or just put a sock in it. Thanks for trying to clear up the confusion...cr8crshr/Bill:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup::usflag::usflag::usflag:

You can say what you want at my house but you might land on yer *** in the street!
As a former mod on another forum I have had to explain this to many members.

...and when "private" social media platforms take government money (e.g., "contracts") from whatever alphabet agencies for unknown purposes...then what?

I agree. You can say what you want at my house but you may not get invited back.
When someone spews at my place.....I tell them right away that that kind of language isn't tolerated at my home and then they can decide to leave now or speak without all the #@$*&!%'s. My youngest is going to get the 3rd degree if she ever comes over again. Last time here it was F bomb this and F bomb that and I didn't say anything but will if she does it again. I talked that way at work but didn't around the house or in anyone else's house for that matter but depending on if I just smashed my finger, then some would come out. Been working on that for awhile now.....

Hey Cranky I wholeheartedly agree with what you’re saying. I appreciate these sites and the work of all members AND owner that go into it. I try to post comments that move things forward. But even then I had to reread some rules. Anyways I’ve heard about the Political Form where “out of hand” discussion are dumped but I don’t know where it is. Is it just an inside joke? Maybe a trash can.

I find it quite disappointing that so many retail and social platforms are owned and operated by the LEFT.
Amazon
Google
Facebook
YouTube
MOST news media too...

I have always gauged my surroundings. When talking to new people I never start off with crude words or talking trashy. But I have a neighbor chick that lives down the road and the chick has absolutely no filter or way of stopping her self. She is just abrasive and I "not a perfect guy" get embarrassed when she runs her mouth. I'm mindful of people around me.

This thread is heading straight to the political forum I see.

The more I think of it there is no way in hell I would ever see this chick in a store or other public place and associate myself with knowing her. No I'm pretty sure this trashy chick is a stand alone. Now I know 2 exist.. Watch out world they are on the rise.

Is that a wink wink nudge nudge!
Ya, pretty much. Just a fair warning. It's Cranky's thread so he can move it when he see's fit. (or if Joey sees it and just moves it) :poke::lol:

The Political Forum is an area where politics are discussed and it's no joke. Click on the 'Forums' button (right next to the 'Home' botton....unless you're using a phone?) and scroll down a bit and you'll see it. https://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/forums/fbbo-political-forum.69/
but you have to click on the 'join' button for access.
