Think of a muscle car you can drive every day.

I'm setting up the '69 Coronet 500 to be a daily driver with a mild 360, and 518 OD trans, I think that it should do 20 MPG?

Daily drive classics, make life fun. Life’s too short to drive boring cars.

newest car I own is an 82 Datsun

I daily drove a ‘70 Charger SE 383/727 for a few years. It served me well…

Nope. Not that one.

Here we go. 2008 and right around 13k miles on it as of today. The LS3 pulled just a smidgen under 28 MPG last trip out to Coloradical and back. Bone stock it's 430 HP and 424 ft lbs of torque.

My most recent "muscle" vehicle was my '98 Grand Cherokee 5.9 Limited. Super-quick little bugger, pass everything but a gas station though! But damn, that factory exhaust sounded GOOD!

Currently, I'd drive my '70 Charger anywhere now that I have it sorted out and gone through. Front end rebuild last winter and alignment this spring took care of all I'd worry about on a longer trip. It has a PS leak, but I carry fluid and top it off when it whines. Gauges work (including fuel), tires are good, brakes are....well, they're 4 wheel drums but they're reliable. Temps are dead-cold; charging system is good; cruises all damn day at 80mph, practically idling (love that 2.76? gearset!). I drive it to work regularly, but since it's had water issues in the past I try and avoid rainy days until (if) I replace window felts and seals and stuff. And take out the incorrect 2 speed wiper motor and replace it with a correct 3 speed - right now the wipers are fast...and ridiculously fast. But they work. And I still need to quiet the exhaust - the 2 chamber mufflers DRONE, but that's more of an annoyance than anything.

Daily drove my '72 Satellite wagon for five or six years, with the 360/380 crate motor and reverse manual valve body. Got in a lot of trouble, running a low-13 second street car on a regular basis.

Daily drove my '06 Magnum RT until it got t-boned by a moron who ran a stop sign.

If I had a late Challenger (looked at, but missed out on, a Hennessy '10 recently), I'd run the piss out of it.

I ride my "muscle bike" on a regular basis, too - 2009 Buell 1125; 370 lbs wet, 156hp at the rear tire, SERIOUS troublemaker. If I can keep the front end down, and shift fast enough, it's a 9 second bike easy. T.r.o.u.b.l.e. But FUN.
