Is there supposed to be a rubber grommet where the throttle cable passes through the firewall? Anyone got pics? Does the clip go on first to hold the cable in place then the grommet?
Oh sorry. 67 coronetYou didn’t mention what you are working on so I just assumed 66-70 b body of some sorts lol.

Oh!!! So I can install the cable without putting the grommet back in?Just an FYI. The rubber grommet in the bracket is nothing more than an insulator. It does not seal anything to the firewall.

Oh gotcha. So if I'm understanding it correctly. The clip goes on first, then the grommet gets pushed in there? No. You need the rubber piece to take up all the slop that would be present without it. The plug and grommet are available.

Oh ok. Thank you, I appreciate your help.Rubber grommet first. Then the cable. Then the retaining clip.
Actually it seals the hole the cable mounts in. Not only would the cable be loose without the grommet but fumes would come inside the car.Just an FYI. The rubber grommet in the bracket is nothing more than an insulator. It does not seal anything to the firewall.
