Tobacco and Its Concequences

2 More Sense

Not preaching..... just sharing experience: Quitting smoking is really only 1% about you. The other 99% is about everyone who cares about you, and the potential impact on the rest of their lives.

Good luck if you are trying to quit.

Quitting smoking was the best thing I ever did. Glad to hear you are feeling better.

I'm also one of the lucky ones. At the impressionable age of 17 I smoked because it was cool and quit after a year because I read the road signs in it. Smoking became less cool to me and I quit. I often wonder about the effects of second hand smoke growing up in the the generation I did. I'm 61 so had been exposed to a lot of smoke and smokers over the years. I thank God that I soured on the habit and quit very early on. I've had had friends with lungs taken out, emphysema and all the bad things that come from smoking.

i know from other how hard it seems to quit. Tuck I wish you well and pray for all the others that are trying to quit. Those that don't want to quit, won't. My sister is one such person. She's my age and has smoked since high school. The only one in a family of 11 that smokes. We pray for her too. God bless to all!!

I must be the oddball here. I still love my cigarettes after 40 yrs . No lung problems, and still can beat a bunch of my "health nut buddies" on mountain bike climbs.

Having said that, I have no illusion about the health effects of cigarettes. Perhaps I am just fortunate that it doesn't bother me yet.
