Torsion bars too soft or tires too thin - 68 Charger

Running a 440 six pack, 4 speed, dana in a 68 Charger. Car was originally a 383 2bbl car with stock torsion bars. When I get on the car it just feels very soft and sloppy. The tires will break loose at 35-40 mph easy. Do you think its the bars or should I look at the steering more closely. Could it be the 15" redline radials causing the sloppiness?. I never had this problem with wider glass belted tires.

Whats the question.
What brand are the redline tire casings?

How do the drag racers do it with super skinnies on the front? Never felt any of that stuff you're talking about even when driving around in the pits and I've driven in grassy and gravel pot hole pits using the old school 90/10 shocks. The cars always handled good. Is your front suspension old and worn?

The more power and speed a car has it exposes weak springs.
383-2bbl cars use the same bars as a 318.

Yes you need better T bars and leaf springs.

My Jigsaw Charger had the stock .88 torsion bars but a big sway bar and KYB shocks. It steered okay and handled pretty good but the front felt too soft.
It would wallow/porpoise instead of feeling steady and controlled. I swapped in a set of 1.03 torsion bars and it feels a LOT better.
