Nothing here at all and thought maybe we'd at least get some rain. It's moving fast so there's not much rain plus we're on the 'clean' side. Kinda funny when so many in the Houston area were all up in arms. Hope there hasn't been much rain where you are.....

The water has come up about a foot since earlier, and that was enough to put an inch or so of water over the dock, that was dry a few hours ago. I've seen worse with bad weather. I'll keep watch into the evening and the likely occasional all hours of the night. If I see lawn anywhere not underwater, I know I don't have to worry about the detached garage.
This could have been catastrophic, because of the track it took, but fortunately it's a weak storm.

It moved real fast too which makes it hard to gain a lot of water. I'm 9 miles from Galveston Bay so I pay attention to anything that's in the Gulf.....

Yep...I was chuckling at the forecast, in a good way, because of the fast track from the Yucatan peninsula to my back door.
It was like the storm was making a trip home from spring break...
Oh, and the name makes me think of:

Here near STL they were saying 2-4" yesterday. Its down to 1/4 to 1" now.
They will keep changing the forecast until they get it right.

They keep changing it until it’s over and predictions are a 100%. I used to live in the Midwest and the Rocky Mountain region. I know real weather. Not what we get in the bio dome or SoCal.

At 3:45 AM I got up to see what the status was. I moved the Roadrunner out of the detached garage and up on to our driveway ramp that goes to the house, and moved my Caravan and the wife's car onto the lower part of the ramp.
All the cars are dry, and I expect them to stay that way, but this is the highest level of water I've ever seen, and the wind is blowing out of the south, for most of the day I just heard, so it's not good.
Pictures coming, my entire yard is underwater.
Bad news. We are definitely going to lose some "stuff", possibly the riding lawnmowers and who knows what else.

Sorry to hear that.

The important thing is to be sure you and family are safe. Objects, especially riding lawnmowers, can be replaced. People can not.

Hopefully this is the worst of it and the water will start receding. Good Luck!

I am quite a ways away in central FL and that storm put 5 inches of rain in my recycle bin which was left open for approximately 24 hours.

You can see the water covering the bottom part of the rear tire of the Caravan. The detached garage is where the Roadrunner was, before I moved it. I'm glad I moved it.

Good luck Bio. Hope you and your family are safe and can avoid any significant damage. Good to see your beautiful RR sitting high and dry - hope it stays that way.

We live near the coast in SE FL and are well aware of the dangers storm season brings. As much as we prepare, I never feel completely ready. Riding out the storm is one thing, but dealing with the aftermath is a whole other story. Fortunately for us, we are far enough away from the water that we don't have to worry about storm surge, just the high winds and localized flooding from rain.

Had to contend with the same stuff at my old house. Cars went up on jack stands in the garage and appliances and furniture got put up on blocks. After the 3rd time getting flooded, that pit got sold.

Looks like the water is going down. Dropped a few inches in the last 3 hours.
Should get better from here on.
Cristobal was a very weak storm.
I can see that a Cat 2 or stronger, on that same track, would be BIG trouble.

Yes, I've been watching and it's slowly but steadily going down.
ALL drainage in my area is gravity based, NO pumping stations or levees.
One good thing about no levees is the water can go out like it came in. When you have levees and FAILED pumps, it's a big bowl.
