Hi guys, i am in the process of build a 440 RB, I currently have aluminum e street eddy heads and planning on using the .509 Purple flat tappet cam. I was wondering if anyone thinks i will encounter any valvetrain problems buy using Hughes 1.6 roller rockers? http://www.hughesengines.com/Index/...a2VyIEFybXMgJiBBY2Nlc3Nvcmllcw==&partid=26893
Sorry if this might seem like a noob question but this is my first time building an engine.

I am about to find out too (sort of). I'm running a set of E-streets with stock rockers and a smaller cam. The heads are listed to accept 3/8" pushrods, but man-o-man those holes look tight. I plan to mock up the motor & grind away metal if necessary. It does look like there's plenty of meat there on the heads.

I would skip the aluminum rockers entirely and get a good set of steel adjustable rockers. They will stay in adjustment much longer without any head aches of using aluminum.

Where can i get these steel rocker arms and are they also 1.6 ratio arms?

I use crane gold 1.5's with RPM heads. i'm using the valves edelbrock supplies with no major mods to the heads. what I found was a geometry issue that required spacing the shafts up .030". I use a solid cam but the Crane solid lifter push rods (shelf push rods) were too short and needed custom longer push rods. so my advice is carefully check geometry and get a checking push rod because I don't think any shelf push rods will work properly with these heads. you shouldn't have any issue with alum rockers, the .509 cam, and edelbrocks springs.

My EDE RPM heads also wanted .030 shims. Check everything.

those edelbrock heads are a true bolt on in the respect they bolt to the block. other than that expect adders.
