was going to use VHT flame proof but cant find any cast iron gray. I dont think 1 can will do it.

I have been using the Eastwood manifold paint for decades now. Great stuff and last when the manifold is prepped properly....make sure to have your manifolds sand/media blasted clean, then scrub them with brake clean, acetone, lacquer thinner etc to make sure they are perfectly clean, then brush on the eastwood manifold paint allow to dry for a day or two and install. Once you fire up the vehicle make sure to let it run for at least 30 minutes and they heat up and cure...the paint does release some nasty fumes as the coating cooks and cures.

I like the Seymour Cast Blast high temp.

I’ll second the Eastwood manifold paint. Seems to be pretty good so far.

This stuff is best I've seen in 30yrs of restoring

I'll give the Eastwood's paint a thumbs up also although I use the aerosol rather than brushing.

I used vht cast iron but it was around a year ago when I purchased it. Can’t remember if it was eBay or amazon.

Back to the original question:
A foam brush

Here’s a pic with about 2000 miles on them. Some discoloring.

Can’t say what’s up with the right side manifold, maybe a surface prep issue. I cleaned these in the blast cabinet with a number 10 glass bead and cleaned post blast.
