was going to use VHT flame proof but cant find any cast iron gray. I dont think 1 can will do it.
I have been using the Eastwood manifold paint for decades now. Great stuff and last when the manifold is prepped properly....make sure to have your manifolds sand/media blasted clean, then scrub them with brake clean, acetone, lacquer thinner etc to make sure they are perfectly clean, then brush on the eastwood manifold paint allow to dry for a day or two and install. Once you fire up the vehicle make sure to let it run for at least 30 minutes and they heat up and cure...the paint does release some nasty fumes as the coating cooks and cures.
I like the Seymour Cast Blast high temp.
my buddy told me 1 can is enough so aiming to buy the VHT also thanks for all the replies.I have used VHT flameproof cast iron SP998 with good results.

did you use the VHT primer? I dont know why I would need to.I have used VHT flameproof cast iron SP998 with good results.

I didn’t. I have used their black header paint in the past with no issues also. All I did was glass bead the old brush on paint and wipe clean.did you use the VHT primer? I dont know why I would need to.
