Going to Disneyland next week with the family for 3 days. We are spending another 4 days in Rancho Cucamonga with my cousin. Is there anything cool to see in the greater LA area, particularly mopar/car related? We are likely going to check out the La Brea tar pits, but after that, not too sure what to do.

Thanks,

Ted

If you're going to be at the La Brea tar pits you should visit the Peterson hot rod museum which is just a couple of blocks away, also on Wilshire Blvd. Here is the link:

If warbirds get You off, Chino airport is about an hour from LA.....home to two museums,,,Hinton's Planes of Fame & YANKS,,,,,,also can walk the airport kicking tyres & see very nice privately owned warbirds & sport planes.

If it's Family outing, then the Kids will wig on Magic Mountain.....they must have at least 20 roller coasters now. But do it on a weekday while school is in.........weekends the line waits are an hour. I want to get back there myself cuz I love roller coasters.

Venice Beach is always fun if it's a warm day. Third street Promenade and Santa Monica Pier are always a great stops. They're right there off the Santa Monica beach. Going there at night is the best. Lots of street performers and good Restaurant's to choose from. It makes for cheap entertainment and fun for the family. There's the presidential libraries of Nixon and Reagan. The Reagan library is the best and is in Simi Valley. There's the World of Bodies exhibit in Buena Park - I think that's a must see and. Its not too far from Disney Land. Google it and you will see its one of the most incredible exhibits I've ever seen in my life.

I don't know about car related - but there's a lot to do in the greater LA area. Google things to do in LA or Orange County. Plan on doing some driving because RC is a bit out there.

Good luck and I hope you enjoy your trip

Also, make sure you allow PLENTY of time to get from one place to another, even though there are lots of freeways they are ALL congested MOST of the time......:)

(I lived there for 14 years :( )

Mels drive in has a cruze night I think and the Chinese theater is right there. The museum at Pomona Raceway is awsome and not a very long drive. There are piers in Redondo & Malibu.

Great ideas guys, thanks. The Supercar Sunday would be cool to check out on our way to LAX (my boy would love it, being 8 and all...). I think we will def. check out piers as well as a few of the museums; Pomona is close to Rancho. Thanks again guys.

Couldn't wait to get out of LA. Stayed a week in San Clemente and liked that. We then took a trip down to San Diego to visit USS Midway.
