Wheel width questions

ok will a wheel/tire combo with these specs fit inside the fenders of my 1971 Plymouth Roadrunner???

Rear:

Tire - 275-60R15
15x8 5/4.5
-5mm Offset,
4.25" Backspace

I've got a line on an excellent price, was going to pick up two of these for the back and the front will get:

Front:

Tire - 235-60R15
15x7 5/4.5
-6mm Offset,
3.75" Backspace

But I need to be sure they will tuck inside

Not sure if this helps but i have a 70. rear is 15x8 0-offset basically 4" backspace. Running 295-50-15. I have at least .75" all the way around. Your tires should be about 28" tall and probably 8.5 wide. Mine are about 1.25" shorter and 1 or 1.25" wider. From my understanding these should clear fine under your ride. And front should be no problem at all.

These wheels/tires are pretty close to what you are doing. 255/60r15s on 15x8, 4.5” backspace on the back. Tires could fit completely up into the well without contact, maybe ½-3/4” clearance at the opening flange and the widest part of the sidewall. Up front, 235/60r15 on 15x7, 4” backspace.

i have 295 50 15s on 8"-9" wheel with a 4" back space on my 73 rr , plenty of room

These are 275/60R15 15X8 4.5" backspaceing on the rear. 235/60R15 15X7
4" on the front. Plenty of clearance:yes:

ok here's the results, these are ION Alloy 625 series wheels, 4.25" backspacing, -5 offset 15x8 on the rear with 275/60-15 Big O - Front has 15x7 3.75" bs -6 offset 255/60-15, I also put new Gabriel Air shocks. Clears fine, a little lip grind on the passenger side to be sure though. 4.5 BS would have been perfect.

The Winchester Grey is very, very nice ! and a rare color too, and I really like that, .....but there are just some body styles that just look better in certain colors, I like the Petty Blue on 72 runners, I had one that color so I guess I'm a little partial to it, the whole color thing is strictly a matter of opinion and we all know what opinions are like.

I like that grey a lot, I don't think I've ever seen it before. I love the unique colors, the ones you don't see often. Like the Petty Blue, Sublime, Grey, Dark green.

When I went searching for a runner I looked for Sublime, smartly several good folks saved me from a mistake and I came upon the Petty Blue car, I honestly couldn't be happier.

hello everyone, I'm new to the site!
I have a 73 RR that has 275 60 15's on back and F70's (i think) on bias tires up front.
I know that the ones up front need to go!

What's a good set up on these 73 B bodies? I like the 295 50 15 because they're wider and sure fill in the wheel wells but I'm also looking at traction. I have SS leaf springs on the back so the car sits high, I've heard that they're great springs for traction along with a snubber, I've got 3.54's w/489 in the back but not sure grip (looking for) so a smaller tire diam (26.7 for 295's would help bump up the gear ratio a bit and although they're a little wider there's less of a tire print correct? Which tire would give you the most traction a 275/60/15 or 295/50/15 or am I splitting hairs? It looks like the 295's would have no problem fitting in the back correct??

I love the combination you've chosen! I have a 71 GTX that has stock 14" wheels. They're coming off this Spring to be replaced with the same tire and wheel combination you've shown here. May I ask: What is the offset for the front and back wheels?

235/60/15 on 15x7's in front with 275/60/15 on 15x8 in back 4" offset. Looks and works great. Really fill up the wheel wells nicely.

I was wanting to put 15x10s on rear and 8s on front. Will this combo still work?
