Wow....I followed a DeLorean this morning....

Pretty sure they built one factory red car.

Got one about 10 houses down . It almost never sees the light out side !

Saw one painted on a tv show once. Looked good. Purists will go nuts.

Never really cared for them
An American designer, built in Ireland
crappy underpowered, wasn't it a Swedish V6 (Volvo ?)
ill handling, fiberglass monotub-frame (?),
only thin glued/skinned in stainless steel, easily damaged
& IMO not all that attractive (even by 80's std.'s)
& way, way overpriced, all good reasons probably why
they didn't sell, hardly any of them... :poke:

But;
It's nostalgic to see them driving around...

I always think about the cocaine, DEA & John DeLorean
(former Pontiac/GM Designer) getting busted, being a dumba$$
really vane, always had to be the center of the spotlight/attention
& should have stayed with GM, where he was actually successful...

or Doc Emmit Brown & Marty
in Back to the future movies,
when I see one...

That sort of makes them cool :bananadance:

I saw a gold plated one in a museum up in Reno years ago -
I have seen that one also.

The car was powered by a PRV - Peugeot Renault Volvo engine ---- but crappy was a good description @Budnicks
Just goes to show that the Frogs only build good **** in conjunction with the British....Concorde for example.

:D
