Yet another 440 overheating....help please

I had the same problem, Kiwi...

I changed out the rad to a freshly re-cored 3-core rad, a 7-blade fan, regular green coolant-50/50, and a bit of water-wetter. she runs at 195 in the worst traffic and at 175 cruisin at 65. I abide by the K.I.S.S. theory...Keep It Simple Stupid.

edit:
i almost forgot...i added this home-made overflow bottle too :toothy12:

The fan blades are orientated correctly right?

X2 with removing the electric fan. That thing has to be killing the flow. It should run properly without that band aid. If you put in the 26" radiator, with a fan shroud and maybe a 7 blade non flex fan and 180* thermostat it should be fine. I have this setup in my 64 Sport Fury. It came from a 69 Road Runner and it rarely sees 200*
I have this same set up on my 65 plymouth satillite and works great so far, fan is a 19" chrystler steel and heavy but, if it cools my engine thats a good thing.
