1973-1974 Roadrunner & GTX and Satellite Pic Thread

Thanks for the link. I have a factory dash cluster for my 78 Doba that is in KM so I might send them to rebuild it all and calibrate it.
The Charger is on hold right now until I can get a welder.

I miss my dad having his own body shop. I learned a lot from him and I hope to get back in the garage with him soon for a project. My dad is legally blind and he still have the will, know how and drive to do so and I had a stroke (still a lot of health problems) and muscle weakness that causes problems to work with my hands like I want to.

I would love to get that 73 in my area and I'm just playing it cool for now got a few more months left of school until I'm out and back to work. After ten years and selling my 70 Coronet R/T project I'm ready to get back into the world and start enjoying something more. I count my blessing each day for what I've been given and for the things I haven't been given.

I do have a 1975 Dodge truck that was given to me that I may do something with as well. I keep thinking something of a mix of 1969 1/2 cars (love the green and would love red interior) but with a ram charger hood school like that on a 1971 Charger or Roadrunner or GTX.

Well back on subject post up those cars! If you posted and have more picks please shaire I'm falliing in love with the 73-74 cars. I also would like to have a 1973 model since I was born in 73!

Hey Ron what other project you got going on?

Rebel what kind of welder you looking for? We a thrift store here that gets them in from time to time and I've talked them down on prices because they were selling for what you could buy new. If I find their link again I will post it up for you. If you they have one and you want let me know I can handle the part of getting it shipped to you.

I'm thinking the next 73/74 road runner I do will be in Ford T5 Dark Copper Metallic with black stripes. That's the color my Police Interceptor is painted, and with the black fascia on the rear it really looks great. Plus the color changes with the light so it looks burnt orange in bright sunlight, dark copper red in medium light, and almost maroon at night... like having three cars in one. :)

Ron, have you ever thought of shooting the tail light bezels in your red body color? I think that would look good.

No sir, i kind of like the black setting them apart..

Ron what rear spoiler is that on your car it, looks real good.

I am looking for a mig but things are tight right now so there is no extra $$$$ for one.. I have been looking on CL,pawn shops and the used ones are beat real bad and they are asking new welder prices.

Hey Rebel I hear you man on both accounts. If I see one at a decent price I will link it to you. I'm just trying to get back into the Mopar world myself right now lol. I was given a 1975 Dodge truck that I think I may turn into a street rod of some kind and I'm still holding out for that 73 Roadrunner if the guy would take $1000 I would bring home right now.

I saw some cool cars on racingjunk.com that were located in VA.

There are a few things that have prices that are almost equal, new, used or abused.

Good box fans
Bench vices
MIG welders
Plasma cutters

to name a few

You CAN get a good deal on a MIG via CL, but you have to call and go REAL quick.
The good ones that are priced at a value generally don't last three days.

Rebel, Im sorry but i have no idea what that wing is, Ive been buying the one you see more on these cars for a long time now but haven't as yet but is in my plans.. to me it looks like one i seen on a Trans Am a couple times, No, i don't have anything against Pontiac but like the other ones you see more that sits higher and curved down on the ends, Ill have one sometime but to many other things thats taking precedence right now.. This isint supposed to have a wing but the holes are there and the wing, i said, what the heck! lol..

Ron it does look like the one on early 80's trans am. It looks good on your car. I understand about other things taking priority.

CoronetRT Here is two more that might help with you wanting dash pictures, The third one is the closest to what you really can see with instrument panel, To actually sit in the car and see them they are bright and everything nice and clear, I don't know why they show up the way they do in the pictures except a cheap camera i use, The fender turn signals are red to... I came across these looking for something else so i hope it helps what ever you might have planned...

Ron that looks awesome man! I like that with the white gauges. I bet at night it looks really cool. I really like that and it would fit in nicley with the truck idea I have. Great looking car man.

Also I wonder if the wing is one for a GTO? I'm thinking like 71-72 Judge. I think in 73 the body of the GTO changed to the Nova platform.

I gotta tell ya Ron, i LOVE that wing on your car. the white on the hood, the strobes and the white wing set it off great!

not sure if it's "supposed" to be there or not, but it sure as heck looks like it should be!

CoronetRT I have no idea, honestly its been a long time since ive seen a 70-71 GTO.. sorry..

Thanks Mar, Maybe it does belong, i always liked the other style myself only because it does remind me of a GM, And outside of the Oldsmobile am a fan of them just not as much as Mopars.. And i always liked the Impala SS (63-64) cars next to the love of everyone else thats a gm guy or gal, the Camaro and Chevelle, had them both but the Camaro is last on my list of the Bow-Ties..

- - - Updated - - -

I did have a nice 66 Chevelle! Restored it from nothing... 5 year project that was getting me close to a divorce with the time i spent on it, not a happy women for awhile :)

Great looking Judge! I have a soft spot for 70 GTOs I owned one and wish I never sold. The only rust problem was lower 1/4s and dirvers door and it need a full pump. Car ran long enough to get it off the trailer and then I sold it to a friend and went back to work on a 70 SCJ Cobra Jet Drag pack Torino. I finshed that one and got to work on my Coronet R/T but never got it finished. I need to post pics of the Torino lol that was a fun car and the tac in it (ribben tac) was crazy.

It wouldnt be a buick GSX spoiler would it?

i have a big soft spot for Judges and GS's. freakin torque monsters!!

went for a ride in a '70(?) GS stage 2 (granny driven for 35 years mind you!!) until John (granny's son) got ahold of it!! blastin' down the back roads of DeKalb IL @ 110+, i gotta give respect where respect is due!!!

THAT was a something ill never forget!

Yea, who couldn't like the Judge, 69 i would prefer over others but great cars, never owned one, rode in some raced some maybe, to far back to remember all of that young-n-dum things we used to do, but fun to think back on those days! Good night gentlemen...
