Let's hear some KILL SWITCH ideas...

I just pop the hood-n-take my coil wire off-n-put it in my pocket

I am in with the cig lighter. A simple way to do it is take the power wire off of it and then wire the neg side of the coil to it. Push in the lighter and it grounds out the coil. Easy Cheesy.

Install a rat trap above the visor, wyhen some one gets in the car the rat trap will fall and snap em on the face. You might have a little blood on your seat after. But think about the screams you will hear when some one tries to steal the car!

There is a guy (Jim) I know who insists that a mechanical fuel shutoff is best. He states that a would be thief can then start the car, start driving it away using the fuel in the carb, and then very quickly it would stall and leave him stranded. Jim points out the the thief is then in the public eye, probably blocking traffic and getting the attention of everyone. Thieves don't like this, and are then likely to split.

Jim feels that if there is an electrical kill switch, a determined thief can quietly work on the issue until he finds a work around and then still steal the car.

I don't have any on my car (yet), but have thought about putting a Lojack in it...

Had one with fuelpump shutoff.

on one car i had the previous owner installed a ecu that hooked up to a keypad, you couldn't start the car without punching in the correct 4 digit code, worked awesome.

If you don't have a kill switch wired in I thought this was a great idea to slow a thief down. When you park just take the coil wire at the dist. and swap it's position with one of the plug wires. A casual thief wouldn't see it.

I keep looking at this thread, and everytime I scroll past this post I crack up laughing.

I have my battery in the trunk, the wire is is joined by a kill switch under the front seat that has a removable knob.

I like propwashes kill switch i live in brooklyn we don't dial 911.

I'm surprised that you can't wire one in from an iphone app along with the iphone activated remote start/door lock features.

You can, should be able to do it with almost any of the remote start/alarm kits. Some of the alarm kits have GPS/cell phone apps, but require paying for the cell service.
