I agree the tr . Trader score is a helpful tool, but in many cases it is "too little, too late". And NO, we don't know the other side of the story BUT it appears that css426truck doesn't want to talk about it. If he were on the "up and up" why wouldn't he share his side of what has happened?? So we are left with the facts as presented by 747mopar, NO payment after more than a month, NO acknowledgement of phone calls or PM's, a tall story about his truck and phone being stolen, but the "perp" still checks in here often and continues to offer parts for sale to others and is able to communicate with those buyers.
Let's be perfectly CLEAR about the "giant leap to parts that don't exist", that WAS NOT my post or my thoughts on the matter. Very simply, I wanted him to understand that NOT PAYING his bills here would cost him the priviledge of continuing to do business on this site. "Most" of us will not just look the other way and allow him to continue as if he'd done nothing wrong.
Someone mentioned using Paypal to get retribution. I suspect that this is not possible in this case, I don't believe 747mopar had listed his parts on a site that Paypal is a part of (such as Ebay). He was simply trying to get css426truck to "use" Paypal to reimburse him for a private transaction involving the parts. Without some type of record of the transaction that Paypal is directly involved with, they won't/can't do anything about it.
I personally want nothing more than an HONEST marketplace here on FBBO, and that requires that the crooks be identified and eliminated as quickly as possible.
To 747mopar, I sympathize with you and hope that you are eventually able to recover your losses. Thank you for bringing this situation to our attention!
