By the forth digit on your vin number ('62-'65)
http://www.lhmopars.com/vin62-65.htm
KK, I checked that site and on my vin # the 4th digit is 9 and the code only goes to 7 but when I look at the 1965 code the number 9 indicates the Windsor plant.
This car is a Canadian car.
Do you think that could be the location of my car being built? I would think so, but just not sure.
Also what do they mean by the last 6 digits being sequence numbers?
Any thoughts would be good, thanks. Preachr.

My code book doesn't show a "9" for 1964 but like you said, it does for 1965. I'd say it's a good number to verify it's a Windsor built vehicle. This site shows the forth digit numbers without displaying them with each year.

The sequence numbers that follow after the first four digits are the number produced by that particular plant. Mostly starting with the number 100001 as the first car.

Maybe more members that own Canada built vehicles could comment on their vin numbers.

Appreciate you checking that for me KK.
Like you say, maybe some Canadian members will kick in here with some info as well.
It would be nice to get a few things clarifed by others is all.
Thanks again KK. Your car was lookin good at it's first cruise-in by the way.
!

Got a response from FCA yesterday and check returned saying:

"They were unable to offer full decoding due to projects and and limited staff within the archives".

They did send a photocopy of the build card but it's not legible.

That sucks. I know they have said in the past that not all card copies would be legible. It would be nice to see someone else take over those files.

At the very least they were able to determine the original dealer the car was shipped to. That's something.

If you can see the punch marks, it can be decoded.

If they only go up to 67, what happened to the records for 68 & up? Did they not use IBM cards?

The story goes that the 68 and up records were all lost in a fire?

I got my reply in the mail over the weekend from Chrysler Historical Services. A photo copy of the IBM card which I was able to decode most of the options on it. I'm still unsure what the original tires were and what the wheel trim was.
I also got a letter telling me who the original selling dealer was.

I did this a decade ago for another car. There was a good amount of info on their website, a whole page if I remember correctly.

I've been meaning to do this again, so I checked today, buried in the Contacts link, one paragraph:

Well it's been almost 8 weeks and still nothing. Check has not went through either

I just sent in a request the other day via email so I’ll update the group if I hear anything back.

How long did it take for yours to get back?
I think it was just a few weeks for my Satellite in 2017. The Belvedere may have been a little longer, 10 years ago.
