Just wondering if the fuel filter should be before or after the mechanical pump.

If it's before the pump will it cause any issues being fairly close to my headers?

Usually between the fuel pump and before the carb. Wouldn't hurt to have one before the pump too. Keeps the trash at bay.

just right down the alternator

I'm having trouble finding a flared fitting for 3/8 fuel line.

Is that 3/8 natcho?

If so where did you get the fitting? Right now I havr a Barb fitting but it's to long.

I just posted the only pic on my web search able to show the exact location.

My car got the regular metallic stock one which is 5/8"

Not sure on the size but the prefab lines fit really well, I think mine came from fine lines. I think I had to use an adapter as I had a carter 440+6 style pump but with the stock pump you should be GTG.

Sorry I meant the flared nut that slides over the tube that screws into the pump

I have a 3/8 fuel filter

Thx

Your Initial Post Says 1971 Charger 383

What Size Is Your Steel Fuel Line Coming From Your Gas Tank Along Side Your Frame Rail ?

383 = 5/16"

440 HP/Sixpack = 3/8"

Mine is metal thankfully

I need the portion of line that goes between the pump and the carb.

I don't know if all the outlets are same on all pumps where they line up.

If I buy a prefab line it may not fit in not sure

I'm not doing full resto to original.

I'm using this pump 3/8

Mine is exactly the same.

My carb is a rebuilt Holley 3310-3 which I think is a 4150

I can't tell if that fuel line is 3/8

I was gojng to bend my own if I could find the flare nut 3/8s

Small Steel Line Will Come Off Your 440 Flared Outlet Fuel Pump - Then Other End For Rubber Hose To Fuel Filter / Fuel Strainer Like In That Nacho Picture

Larger Steel Line Is Designed For Factory Carter AVS Or Edelbrock Carb With Flared Inlet
Other End For Rubber Hose Off Fuel Filter / Fuel Strainer

What Carb You Running ?

I know it is not correct but here is mine, mounted right next to the A/C drier. Reason being mainly because there is so much stuff going on between pump. belts, alternator, and hoses, I decided to relocate it so I can clean it out.
