Head Lights keep going out

I had that problem once, it was a bad ground at the dimmer switch. There is a fusible link or circuit breaker behind the driver’s kick panel.
National Moparts in Beaverton Ontario sells factory reproduction dash harnesses, engine bay and headlight harnesses. We got the engine bay and headlight harnesses. Fantastic.
The dimmer switch does not need a ground and shouldn't have one!

Thank you. I did clean the base of the switch off, and the rust on the floor pan bolted it back down and it worked. Now I won’t know what the problem was I guess.

Those dimmer switches can corrode inside. They live a rough life! I would't want someone's foot stomping on me every night!

Here is a better diagram:

Sorry, this is the diagram I was trying to find from the start:

Your headlights are going out or not closing?
As you can see, the CB feeds the rotations, not the illumination side.

Some good suggestions on why they are going out.

There is more information here than you need, but check post 4 for some simplified prints.

I removed parts from prints that might help.
These sections are from the factory manual 67.
It appears that Chrysler didn't make any changes in the prints between years.
Even if that is the case the cars may actually be different.
For example IIRC, when I rewired the 67 there was an inline fuse hidden in the wiring bundle in the dash feeding the emergency flasher.
Someone would never have found it.

There is a circuit breaker built into the headlight switch, for the illumination, as well as the one at the kick panel. It has a fairly high rating I believe. More often they go bad, vs actually seeing a high load, as built.

If the lights are going out with switch on, 90 % of the time its in the dimmer switch, have run into this many times over the years, contact points inside dimmer overheat with draw putting stain on headlamp switch, kicking breaker inside headlight switch off, things cool off, lights back on till heat builds again. replace dimmer usually fixes this but in rare occasion had to do switch as well.

You said when they go out you hear a loud click under the dash. From my experience, the only thing that makes a loud click in the dash is the three headlight relays (behind the glove box) which open and close the headlights buckets. What else could possibly make a loud click

The circuit breaker in the switch will click also, noticeable on some cars more then others, the position on the dash makes a difference here
