Flat Orange General Lee? Opinions.

If you change the front clip to a 69, I would be interested in the 70 front clip if you decide to sell it all.
That's what I was going to say. I'm a fan of people making 70s into GLs if it means more good 70 fenders in circulation!

That's actually how I got my 70 fenders last year. A young guy in Kentucky was redoing his 70 into a 69 front end! God bless him!

I would rather see a '70 Charger painted Petty blue than see another orange one with DOH decals.

Edit to add "DOH".

Not every Charger that John Schneider drove was orange. :)

I’m partial to Mopar orange hue on a 70, EK2 is my preference.. That first one is gorgeous..

Just my opinion, but a flat orange, or any orange for that matter, on that car will dramatically hurt the resale value if you or your family ever sells it. But it is you car, make it the way you want.
I’ve held back a bit on this one. Usually I’m pretty bold about expressing my opinion.
Yeah, it is your car but this is like a joke that has been told a hundred times. I’m not a purist but I’m tired of seeing General Lee clones.
The Dukes of Hazzard movie had a ratty Charger at the beginning of the movie but “Cooter” went through it after Bo scuffed it up. The second version of the car in the movie closer matched the TV series car.
The first car was a faded orange and had door numbers that were shaped differently. I’d actually like seeing a version like that since it has not been done so many times.
Oh, as far as affecting the resale value of the car…. You have to really screw up to do that.

I’ve got my 1st Mopar, a 1970 Charger. I know it’s not the correct year for General Lee, but I’m painting it orange and putting the decal kit on it. I just replace the rear quarter and got the whole car in primer this weekend. My body work is not the straightest. I know it’s gonna really show if it’s painted gloss orange. I was thinking about a flat clear coat on top of the Corvette Flame Red orange paint. This would hide some of my flaws and be unique. I see lots of people wrapping there newer cars with a flat wrap and I think it looks good. What are you’lls thoughts about a flat orange General?
There's a 70 in Cheyenne that's flat sublime and it's a great looking car!!! Just my opinion

To make things even worse, locally there is a flat orange 67 Chevrolet Biscayne fastback with the 01 on the doors, confederate flag on the roof, the push bar, similar turbine style wheels and the Charger flip top gas cap mounted to the top of the quarter panel.
I tried to buy the gas cap several times. Lol. He won't take it off and sell it to me.

Too many GLs leads to comradery and different versions. Same is true for the police cars. It was a sight to see.
Owners were all fantastic.

There were also too many Petty cars, but scattered, get them together Petty people.

I'll take the luggage rack Charger over the Go Wing Charger any day of the week.
Agreed, my red 70 Charger is a luggage rack car. I don't like them that much more than a go wing so, I have it on another decklid to maybe mount that decklid with the rack back on the car someday. However, I can't stand a go or gull wing on any body style.
