Flat Orange General Lee? Opinions.

My '70 road runner has a wing because it was built that way. I like it.
Yeah I know, to me Chrysler F'ed up on that decision as well as covering up the door scallops with the R/T scoop. So I can't see anyone removing a Go wing if their car came from the factory that way. I might be the only one to do so by buying another deck lid w/o spoiler holes on it and keeping the original. But then again I would never buy a '70 Charger unless it was a screaming deal because the 68s are way better.

Can I see a picture of yours?
I was thinking about adding one to mine. Thanks

I don't mind Go-Wings or scoops on RRs or other Mopars...but IMO the second gen Charger looks just wrong with any of that. The body is so perfect as it is...don't muck it up. I don't even like the R/T door scoops on '70s, they hide some of the best side body lines on the car (the scallops).

Wing cars are an exception...but only due to their significance.

I agree with you on the door scoops on 70 Charger R/T's. That is my least favorite thing about 70 R/T's. I own two 70 Chargers and do prefer them without. However, they have grown on me since one of them i have owned it 37 years now & the other almost 20 years.

I’ve got my 1st Mopar, a 1970 Charger. I know it’s not the correct year for General Lee, but I’m painting it orange and putting the decal kit on it. I just replace the rear quarter and got the whole car in primer this weekend. My body work is not the straightest. I know it’s gonna really show if it’s painted gloss orange. I was thinking about a flat clear coat on top of the Corvette Flame Red orange paint. This would hide some of my flaws and be unique. I see lots of people wrapping there newer cars with a flat wrap and I think it looks good. What are you’lls thoughts about a flat orange General?

Any progress on your Charger?

I spent extra time to get the body work pretty decent. I painted it Corvette FlameRed and did the shiny clear instead of flat. Painted it myself, I was very nervous, as I never done any painting at this kind of level on this valuable of a car. I’m happy how it turned out. Not perfect, but nothing major happen, just a little dirt in it.

Lots of progress, most of you’ll are gonna hate me, whatever, I’m not a Mopar purest.

I don't hate you, your doing it they way you want, no matter what others might say. For that I give you a thumbs up.

Looking good!

Do you go for a specific aera from Dukes Of Hazzard?

Georgia-style, California-style, 2005 movie-style?
I got the ‘old school’ General Lee font letters from the tv series, not the movie. I got the wide push bar from Smith Brothers, just because it seems to be easier to install on my car. Got the American Racing Vector wheels.

Imo have to have the flags on the back, and the vinyl top trim, if it can be found.

I was talking to a guy at Carlisle, I said I prefer the Georgia style and he described all the details, which included the above stuff, and the fact that they gave up using the wheel lip trim because it kept getting smashed and knocked off the cars.

He also said he had his rear flags painted on but they are now available as decals.

My friend has a 70 General Lee Charger. It's a great looking car,it gets tons of attention everywhere he takes it. He was going to swap the nose to a 69,but I told him to paint the front bumper instead. His car is a real 440 Charger R/T. I said if you ever want to return the car back to original condition, you won't have to track down the rare and expensive 70 Charger nose parts again.

I wonder what it would look like if the bottom of the front bumper was left chrome?
