Do any of you Six Pak lovers have the paint code for the flat black paint used for the fiber glass lift off hood for the 69 440 Six Pak?

i want the factory look which as I recall wasn't a shiney look rather it seems as tho it was a basic flat black.

Little help ell from my friends pls!

Yikes - Stuff must be liquid gold! Hope that's enough to put a couple of coats on the hood. Thanks a lot guys. Appreciate the info.

here's an old PPG paint # used on organosol hood paint #ddl9355. you can also check TCP Global color for the color chips.

I checked into the year one product. It's legit but who wants to pay nearly $200 for a quart of paint when you include their ridiculous shipping costs.

Im checking at a few of the local auto paint suppliers. If I had the correct paint code maybe they could order it for me from ppg. That's where year one gets it.

Any my other thoughts out there?

Well guys/gals I checked out all these sites for prices and authenticity and it looks like there's not much of a difference in the price of this paint. Hopefully I can find it locally and save a few bucks on shipping. I guess this is just another example of pressed on prices we all are for just about everything mopar.

I appreciate the info donations to the cause!

Hasn't that "guy" on Graveyard Carz mixed up some of that Organisol paint at one time or another? Wonder if you were to call him up if he'd give you the PPG paint mixture? If that's what he uses instead of the already mixed Organisol?

here is SEM hot rod black, nice paint , tree sap , bird crap, ect wash off with no ghost marks left.

You have a point Gpuller - I said correct. I should clarify that and say the correct look! I just care that the paint is correct looking and does the job. I really do want the hood which is fiberglass to have the correct look. Just didn't expect that a quart would cost that much.

Thx for all the suggestions. I'm going to try the newer ones cause I checked the others and the correct paint just cost that much (wow)

The hoods getting painted one way or another in the next couple of weeks. Thx to all for the suggestions and options from the great members on this site!

I painted my hood 3 years ago and it looks like the day I sprayed it. My car is no queen and gets driven and yes birds do crap on it. I've read all the rat rod guys use John Deere Blitz Black, so being in a farm community and plus being a Deere fan I figured I'd give it a shot. A quart was $11, couldn't keep it wet enough to not streak and look dry. Sanded it all off and sprayed the SEM stuff. Went on like a dream. Kind of spendy at first I thought but was worth it.

My question is - I've got a an very
Expensive restoration pretty much complete on the GTX. Should a swallow this parts/paint cost issue one more time to make sure I ge t what I want? I'm a worrier and also not doing the work myself. Not like I can sand it down and repaint it. It's got to score the first time. Should I pay the extra money and pay year one or one of the organisol makers and do it original?

I really value you you alls opinion. I'm paranoid as hell having it not come out right with a very expensive paint job on thE rest of the car. The $$$ is killing me on this car ......... Opinions pls?

Ask the body shop painter to have his paint rep for samples from as many different companies as you can. Have them (the painter at the shop restoring the car) choose the one that best matches the original texture and colour then order the amount you need from the respective supplier.

I'm pretty sure it was organisol, which is available through Year One. The PPG code is 9355 if you want to have it mixed at your local paint store. And they can mix it without the texture additive if you want.
