I started changing out the leaf springs on my Roadrunner this weekend, and several months ago I bought a used DeWalt electric impact wrench on craigslist. I had always wanted a pneumatic one, but by the time you buy the wrench, air lines, compressor, etc., forget it. I saw they make electric ones and figured for $50 I would give it a try.

I went to take off the U-bolt nuts and tried using a 1/2" drive first. Nothing. I soaked them in blaster for 15 minutes, nothing. Hit them with the impact wrench, came right off. I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the power that thing has.

I regularly use a cordless Milwaukee M18 1/2" impact and love it. Parts cars don't stand a chance and nothing to trip over or drag around.

I too have a Milwaukee M18 1/2, Makes wrenching a lot easier and its portable. The cordless stuff has really improved. I also have the m12 3/8 ratchet, Quite handy, use it a lot. Had too take it in once for repair already (covered under warrenty), but still happy with it. My friend who is a HD mechanic prefers using my 1/2 M18 over his air impacts.

$50 for an Impact is well worth it. I would recomend any car guy who does not already have one to get an impact of some sort.

Hey Bruz, I have one as well. They work super man! Because I have air and the tools, It does not get used that much. However when I have a small project in the shed, where there is no Air compressor, it will make quick work of a tough nut and bolt. Thought about selling mine many times, but glad I didn't. Larry
