ok guys gonna do steelies on my bee its B/5 can't decide on color match or black. What do you guys think? Possibly leave my nuts showing or stainless red line caps

Tough call, they both look good. Red line caps ! I'm going with black Steelies with red line caps on my 68 ...

I'll leave your one comment to someone else!

Maybe look at some pics to make your decision.

If you paint them body color, what color do you use on the inside of the wheel?

I'm going with black - that always looks right.

I'd be careful about "leaving your nuts showing". You get arrested in most states for that.....

I couldn't resist that comment! I have looked at a lot of pics. Just not many B/5 b bodies with black steelies
and then there's the white tail stripe to factor in too..
I guess I could just paint one side B/5 and the other black and then decide.

wish I had gone with black...

Just for comparison, my B2 Cuda had body coloured wheels with exposed nuts.

It now has dog dishes.

Never been a fan of painted to match rims although that Cuda looks pretty sharp.

I voted for Black. But i prefer the nostalgia race look with black steelies in the back and a period correct mag wheel up front.

JMHO, if I was going with dog dish caps I would paint the wheels body color.
If I was going with no caps and chrome lug nuts I would go with black.

Why don't you just use cans of the wrap and then you can continually change them year to year or every so many months

Black - the sleeper stocker look is always good with B5

I went with 15 inch Black Rims and Chrome Lug Nuts, Red line tires

Black.
Just try and keep anything else clean.
It's a lot of work. If you don't what's the point of body color?
And think about dings and damage and touch up.
What do you want to have when you scuff a curb?
Plus I like the poverty look.
Oh, are you going to trailer the car?
Never mind.

I'm a fan of color matching with dog dish. But you're the one who has to be happy
