Yes I still have the factory breakaway pins. The shaft is a double D style at the end where it bolts under the dash. And round at the firewall end. Speedway Motors sells double D shafts & round shafts. So apparently that’s not an issue.If you kept the collapsible section of the inner shaft & the bearing is securely mounted at the dash, I'd say yes. I would personally be inclined to weld up & re-grind the flattened shaft to be round & maximize bearing contact, just in the bearing area. I AM NO EXPERT ON CUSTOM COLUMNS
