Hello.
I´m finally nearly ready to bring my Charger on the road!
But now I have problems with the german authorities, because they want a proof that GRANT steering wheels do exist at least as long as my Charger (1973/74) and that it was common / or possible to mount them on a Mopar in these days...
I already searched the internet, but could´t find something. A scan from an old advertising, or catalogue would be a great help. Or maybe an instruction manual in which the steering wheel is mentioned. Or maybe some of you guys have an idea where I could keep on searching....

Thank you in advance
Axel

Thank you kiwigtx.
But these are the actual homepages/catalogues. And they say: "These Classic Nostalgia steering wheels by Grant were inspired by the musclecars of the 1960".
To get the historic registration (which is the only payable way to drive a car like this in germany) I need to bring a proof, that these steering wheels already existed in the late 60s/70 and were available for Chargers or at cars out of the chrysler portfolio.

Which wheel are you using? Do you need to show that your specific type of wheel was available for either your model/yr or just the mnfr or do you need to show it available during that tine period?

The "about us" section from the mnfrs states when their wheels first went into production. I seem to remember Grant buying out Covico and maybe Superior as well. Either way, they're all related one way or another. Good luck.

Just a thought, do you still have the original steering wheel?
You could bring the car then with the original wheel, get the registration and inspection sorted and once completed change steering wheel to your liking.
Any "illegal" things here in the Netherlands we remove during MOT/inspections and after put it back.
Cops could give a fine if they are looking for things, but in case of a steering wheel it seems very far fetched someone will notice.

Theoretically a good idea. But I would have to change the hub on the steering column and at the moment the cops here are really looking for something to make you problems. So I would prefer to have the grant wheel in the papers.
Tomorrow I will post a picture of the steering wheel.
@GTXperience: I think it would be sufficient if I can proof that this steering wheel or a similar looking model was available for my car during that time period. I thought maybe someone has old Summit-Catalogues or something like that in which the wheel is displayed.

Looks very similar to this one:

Will this Grant ad from 1970 help? Let me know if you can't open this.

That's the style of wheel I remember from the era. I have a photo of a friend's '70 Charger with that wheel installed - taken around 1984.

Hello Mike. Yes I could open it. Thank you very much!!!
@kiwigtx: Sure, please send the picture. Everything that could help is very appreciated!
