OK ....I know what I’m opening myself up too ..I’m trick skin ,,,so don’t hold back ,,lol here goes ... I have 70 GTX that was my dads ..it’s a real GTX original motor transmission etc. ,,, but not an original car colors,,auto meter gauges , Electric fuel pump, MSD ignition, no vinyl top, yall get the picture ,,Im thanking on putting Roadrunner stripes on the side (dust trail and bird) on my G tax , what y’all think.? Lol
 
Do what you prefer it is your car and you have to be happy with that.......IMHO I would not do that......
 
For years i have done my cars the way I WANT.......................,when it cums to sell it theirs to many pickers out there just trying to jew me down so matter witch way i go just cant win.I say do it your way.Me don't like the plane Jayne car.
 
I have to agree with the majority. I would not put a Road Runner sticker on a GTX. Leave it as a GTX.
 
I HAVE a real road runner and still wouldn't do it, because I never cared for those stripes.

Those GTX stripes are so awesome on their own, in my opinion..that's really a great looking car as it sits. Adding them to a plain-jane is one thing, but you'd be down-grading (again just my opinion). I know though, the roadrunner decals are the fun classic markings that are instantly recognizable. If that's what you really want go for it! Just remember if you're feeling unsure about it now you'll probably regret it later..
 
I will die with this car ,she was my dads,, kinda like part of family ,,,,,I have her at body shop getting the uder side of hood painted and setting gap on front fenders too door gap ..it was wecked years ago ,,,,so body guy said he mite have to remove side stripes ,,,that’s what kinda got me thinking ,,,the bird kicking up dust is so cool ..I’ve got a 73 roadrunner ,going to start working on it next year , guess I can get my bird fix then .....
 
If I had a bird I might think of turning it into an X - but would never do it the other way around

A guy I know had this >Beautiful '69 GTX with a strange stripe on it.. car was in excellent shape, show paint and very stout 440 ..took forever to sell .. think if it's a long time keeper, knock yourself out and make it your own.. if it will be for sale in the foreseeable future, know that your change may hurt the sale.

Not something I would ever consider doing to an original Gtx.
