My brother ca over this afternoon to help with welding pan in. Just need to finish welds to front lip and grind everything. I’ll post pics when finished.

Trunk pan finished.

Used spot welder to attach inner wheelhouse to trunk pan. It’s a chore holding that welder up every time. They should have made it 50 pounds heavier, not!

Slow coming but making progress. Found bad area on passenger rocker from previous cra that I wanted to repair. You can see from pictures it was cut and filled with mud and didn’t show up until it returned from dipping. Figured I’d cut out bad area and weld in new patch.

I’ll show pics once welded in place.

My brother and I have had both new quarters off and on numerous times trying to make tweaks to improve fit and appearance, but finally ran into issue with how the quarter extensions fit. Wasn’t until we put trunk lid on it became apparent the quarters were not stamped correctly at the ends. You can see below where there’s gaps from top body line down to bottom corner where bumper relief starts. The top surfaces match up nicely between quarter and extension and the inside edge matches up to trunk lid, just wrong radius stamped on outside.

This is probably why a lot of folks leave the original tail light structure in place when replacing quarters, but since this car was so roughly I didn’t have a lot of choices other than cutting everything away. Fortunately I still have the original quarter panel ends that have correct angle so we plan to splice those in to new quarter metal. More cutting and welding, but it needs to be right.

Thanks for continuing to post your progress. Good work on the extensions and he rocker. For the reasons you mentioned, I am trying to use original sheet metal for my quarters.

Been slow progress, but after fitting quarters a putting on and taking off at least six times, we finally got them to fit good enough to weld in place.

Finished all the welding on the quarters finally!!

I also received gen 3 Hemi conversion parts. Started with cutting out tranny cross member section to fit in new hoop. Still need to massage floor pan for clearance to new hoop.

Getting clearance for the new hoop was a total pain in the ***. Took a few hours hammering away at floor pan. I’d hate to think how difficult this would be if converting on a car that’s already completed.

I was doing some used car shopping for my daughter and ran across this at the local dealer.

Black edition hellcat with 800 HP. Sticker says $85K but there’s a note next to it that says market price is $95K. Couldn’t get inside to get the feel cause they had it locked and keys were in the safe for security. Told my wife she could get it for me for my birthday. Her response was, “uh, no!”

The hood I had dipped wasn’t as nice as I had hoped. Plenty of dents and both passenger side threads for hinge were stripped out. Fortunately I had another hood on hand, but it’ll need some work done to clean up before shooting In epoxy.

Someone welded in a piece of steel in the large opening I’m assuming to increase the height of the center section for clearance. I cut all the spot welds and peeled it apart. I’ll remove the added strap of steel and then get it blasted.

I got a lead on a new 6.4L crate engine that I’m going to go inspect and possibly buy this weekend. Fingers crossed…..

I ended up getting a great deal on the engine. Brand new, never been run. Just been in storage as the original owner never got around to putting it in project car. He said one of his buddies wrote 950HP on cover as a joke.

Now I need to find a tranny. Thinking of going with 8HP70 unit.

Picked up an 8HP70 tranny this weekend. One step closer to test fitting it to car.

I have yet to figure that out. You have any suggestions?

Holley for engine and stand alone controller for the 8 spd. There have been some mentioned on this forum, I think one is from a german company that is supposed to be good.

Got it, thanks. I'm already planning/using all the holley conversion parts like motor and trans mounts. I didn't realize they make an engine harness as well so I'll have to research that. I originally assumed I needed to use a swap engine harness from Mopar. I did find today hotwire auto makes a stand alone harness for the 8HP70.

I'm a holley dealer, wish I'd have known, I could have saved you some money. Holley has a complete terminator kit for the late model hemi that comes with all sensors and harnesses for the engine control.

Purple works fine.

Yeah, it's what my wife prefers as it's her favorite color, but not my first choice. I was leaning more towards a silver with black vinyl top and black and red interior. She ended up saying paint it whatever I want, but not sure if it's a trap??

We were tearing down engine and trans that came with the RR tonight. Look at this bolt that was holding the speedo gear bracket in the trans.

Is this OE??
