It was 70 degrees yesterday morning then it started cooling down when the front came in later on in the day. This morning it's 40 and breezy with wind gusts to 24 mph. It was 85 the day before for a high and will be 45 for a high today. Yeah, it could be worse and it has been much worse in years gone by but I can't remember the last time we've had this many temp swings in one season. It's also hard to believe we haven't had a major flu season here yet but there are many who are having major sinus issues and if we don't have anymore light freezes, the trees will be leafing out very early this year to kick off a great allergy season lol.

We’re still down to minus 39 without the pussy windchill. The air is dry because the moisture actually freezes and falls out of it, so many of us have cracked bleeding hands and nosebleeds. As a painter and drywaller work goes fast indoors because the dry air dries everything very quickly.
What’s really neat about this time of year is that as the days get longer the sun gets stronger. Yesterday afternoon it warmed up to minus 33 without the pussy windchill and dark objects were warm to the touch. As soon as you go in the shade it’s still minus 33, though.
In March when the days really change it can be minus twenty (yes, without the pussy windchill) and as long as you’re in the sun you can wander around in a short sleeve tee shirt and be entirely warm. Go in the shade and you freeze quickly.

its been -5 here the past two mornings, but it is early February in Colorado! LOL, we might get to freezing tomorrow! hahahahaha

Out salting sidewalks in 15 degree F weather. Just chillin'.

78 here yesterday and woke up to 30 this morning. Supposed to be 23 tonight.......Oh well I enjoyed just a taste of Global Warming.

It was 74° yesterday and 17° this morning. And it's not a dry cold either. Supposed to get to 37° around 5:00pm.
And the flu has hit. Hard! Couple area schools closed for "deep cleaning".

10 days ago we went from -30 (without the pussy windchill) to 40 above zero in 2 days. Even in the wildly changing weather of Wisconsin that's a huge change.

Where about in Texas are you? Supposed to be 68 on Sunday and in the 70's again on Monday.....

better than what I woke up to

the worst was the compressor/condenser
for my HVAC split-system heater
fan got way out of balance from drips from the roof
landing on it & freezing when it got dark
it was rattling like a M-fer,
I dumped hot water on it, it quit rattling at least
rude awakening thou.... :poke:

I woke to this every morning for the past 6 days
we got some 4-5 feet, 11"-13" each day
& a couple days of 4"-8", we've been in the teens at night
thankfully it's mostly all melting off each day, about 1/2 or more
except the 1st 2 days it was cold & it didn't melt
I still had to shovel the back dog run & back deck
Northern exposure (cold), would be there for weeks on end otherwise
& the driveway (southern exposure) entry
so it wouldn't refreeze & be an ice-shelf overnight
or a ice dam, we're near the bottom of a hill
allot of water comes off the street

my back is stiff
I do have 4x4's but, it's slushy stuff when it get wet
kept me busy, I was bored anyway :poke:

I don't need anymore snow melt than I have already

we get the devils dandruff from time to time
my cousin a few miles upcountry got like 7 feet
& it didn't melt off each day

this was the 1st day, it only got worse from there
