There may be no answer to these minute details I was wondering about, but I thought I would ask anyway:

1) Did the factory bend the lower tabs over on the rear seat back frame, or were they left as in fotos one and two below?

2) Am I missing a screw or something next to the bucket seat catch/latch as in fotos three (and four) below?

3) Is the hole in the door near the latch open (like in foto five below) or should it be plugged with something?

4) My shoulder belt is always slipping off its peg, I notice there is a rubber seal/ring around the peg as in fotos six and seven. Is the belt coming undone perhaps because that rubber thing is worn away?

Thank you.

I can answer question #1. Yes those tabs are to be bent over. I know this from parting out a few 1973 B Body cars and each time I had straighten those tabs out to remove the upper seat.

On another note: if so in the lifetime of the car if the rear seat were removed and re-installed several times those tabs would eventually snap off. I had one do that to me on a parts car.

Hopefully others will chime in on your other questions.

I believe I can answer all but the first question.
(2) I looked at my seats and there is no hole next to the latch. It is either worn or some drilled it. Granted mine are 73 seats but the setup is the same I believe.
(3) I believe if you look in that hole you will see an allen head screw that is used to adjust the intensity of the latch, so no, no plug.
(4) It is entirely possible that the grommet is worn or the shoulder portion is worn or both. Simple fix ... a couple of right sized rubber O rings should do the trick.

I just did my buckets. To answer question #2, the bucket bases are the same, drivers or passenger. The “extra” hole you refer to would be used for the bumper if the seat were mounted on the opposite side. The catch would be in a different spot, as well. Also, seat backs are the same except for the seatback release mount is mounted on one side or the other.
