"The Art of Racing in the Rain"

For Lovers of Dogs, Family, Cars.... philosophy of Life according to 'Enzo' the Dog.

The book is finally a (to be released August 9, 2019)movie.
I know some of You have read the book, I know some of You are devout like me & keep a copy available for re-reading time to time.
For those Dog Lovers Who have NOT read the book,,,believe me when I say You Must!!!!

I'm definitely going to check out the movie, hoping it will be something approaching the book.

"The car goes where the eyes go"

Or

"You manifest that which is before You"

Blade: This is one of my favorites. We even bought several copies to give to our dog owning friends . How long did it take you to realize who was telling the story?

I knew it from the start, He was in the kitchen laying in His piss, waiting for Denny to come home & take Him to the Vet for the final rest.....that's when He began His story. Broke me up from the very beginning.

I saw the book in starbucks when it first came out, wanted to get it, forgot about it. Then about 2 years later, April 3rd 2010, I had to let go of My Beautiful DanaToo after 14 1/2 blissful years. Put Her to Rest. She had nasal cancer, probably caused by a brain tumor.
The next day a Friend hands me the book saying " I haven't read it but My Brother said that You should read this." I was stunned by the timing, started reading it immediately, finished it quickly crying & laughing through its entirety, started re-reading it immediately. Grippingly Profound!!
"One More Lap Denny! One More Lap!"
Breaking me up just typing this....

There is just something about our pets that grips our hearts.

the day Stoogie went...he was old,like 15.
i cant even express how special he was to me...anyways.
he had a really hard time walking that morning and he went out back and lay in the sun,but facing it.
something he never did, because he was light sensitive, just like me.
he didnt do any of his usual playing around or running around either.
i had a bad feeling right away,
i went over and talked to him and it was then i knew..he was all done in.
i called the dog lady and she called the vet and they both came to the house,
i talked to him some more, and told him how much i loved him,
and soon there wouldnt be any more pain and she gave him the shot.
even retelling this,is one of the hardest things ive ever done..i So miss Stoogie.
God Bless all our dogs.

Very emotional subject for me also. My property has several daily reminders for all those
furry loved ones who came here for refuge and found it; they're all buried here in their favorite
spots.
I've told the story of Sasha as well on here; she'll also be here forever once her time comes:

Great book! Anxious to see the movie. I tried not having a dog, lasted a whole year until I could not deal with the black hole in my home any longer.

Thought this was the subject,,,,,,,,crazy Aussies!

Title is such because Senna was Enzo the Dog's favorite F-1 driver, Senna being the undeniable master of running in the rain.(according to Enzo). So it made sense to Enzo to draw philosophical comparisons of Living to racing in the rain. The hazards of Living, but the Joys to be experienced in between said hazards.
