Do you have any phobias?

Light Rail Recertification. Halfway through, think I’ll pass.

Deep bodies of water (can't swim) and heights (especially heights over deep bodies of water).
The Delaware Bay Bridge makes me nervous, for example.
Last time I drove over that thing was 30+ years ago in my '68 Bee.
No wipers, RainX on the windshield - in a rainstorm.
Car danced like crazy over the metal grating and it damn near took a putty knife to pry my
fingers off the steering wheel at the next refuel stop later. DEATH GRIP....

Oddly enough, I've spent many an hour up in scissor lifts and such, working away just fine.
I can even look over the side to drive while up there 20 foot or better...
I did get knocked out of one 20+ years ago by a wayward stick of 6" steel pipe and went to
the slab below, about 16' feet down. Got up, rubbing a sore shoulder and hip, only to be greeted
by a bunch of other workers onsite - who all looked at me like they were looking at a ghost.
Yeah guys, I'm fine. Nope, nothing broken. Gonna be sore in the morning...
One of 'em asks "how in the....?"
I shrugged and replied "God's got a sense of humor and I must amuse the hell out of Him." :)

I just thought of another I have. Ice cream wooden sticks or those damn wooden spoons. The thought of those touching my tongue sends shivers down my spine. The only thing that could make that worse is to smear syrup on my forearms with wooden sticks or spoons.. Might have to take me to the looney bin.

Great topic.

Phobia #1 is bugs getting in my ear canal. Why? many years ago when I was undercoating my 73 Road Runner a Japanese Beetle got in my ear canal. When he ran out of canal the little bastard started digging. It was loud (since he was digging on my ear drum), painful and freaky since he was digging towards my brain!

Phobia #2 are crowds of people. Why? When I was about 6 years old we were on a subway platform in Mexico and crowds of people were pushing in from behind. We almost got pushed off the platform in front of the oncoming subway train. In a crowd, you could be Hercules and still be powerless. A crowd in a panic situation kill people because people fall and get trampled to death. They don't get trampled to death because others don't care, they get trampled because in a crowd, you will get pushed wherever and however the crowd goes. This is why I don't like concerts, large sporting events and things like this - makes me antsy

Originally being from Ohio, I figured quicksand was going to be an issue when I was relocated to Florida when I was 13. For 5 years I wouldn't walk on sand, not even the beach. Turns out it is not really an issue.

My biggest to this day is claustrophobia. Twice I have punched out side windows of customers cars that the windows didn't roll down and the door wouldn't open. Both times when it was still dark out in the morning.

I would have to say crowds of people. I really have becoming more aware of this the older I get. Not very social anymore. I can see me becoming a recluse.

Cant really say I have any phobias.. i really like snakes...I guess carnival rides if any....I'll ride every one but as soon as I get on I start wondering who was the welder?, what country was the engineer from? Were they drunk when they put it together? Are the bolts about to shear off??? Makes the rides a little more exhilarating...
My two biggest fears are that my daughters will marry someone like me and running out of money before I get my car finished...lol!!!

I have the fear that if my member continues to grow, pretty soon it will be illegal for me to wear short pants.
If you nuts keep it up, you really should have that checked out, you could trip and get hurt........... LOL...... Unlike others, I care!!!!!:poke:

Only that the little gray people won't let me ride on their spaceship again.

Claustrophobia is, again, mine. Bought my house 23 yes ago. There was this friggan clown car left in the driveway. Guys I work with thought it would be funny to see how many guys we could stuff in there. Me, the dumbass went in first. Yup, I thought, this is it. I’m dying packed in here like a sardine.

I've been around swarming bees, worked up high in the air with mechanical lifts, walked atop walls 16 feet or higher, dated a Hispanic woman,
Was the Hispanic woman a BMW??

I went to Kemah boardwalk right after Ike hit, my daughter wanted to ride that tall ride (150') that swings you out. I'm standing in line looking at everything and notice the bolts that anchor the base and started thinking about how long those anchors had been exposed to salt water... were the concrete workers that set the forms trained??? Then I start thinking about a response, if this thing goes over and we land in the water how am I going to get my daughter out, what if we land on the roof of Landrys.... it was again exilerhating!!!
