I was thinking about the drive your classic car trope.

Yeah, that's the downside of driving classics. Lap belt in most cases just enough to hold your *** in place while you noggin hits everything around. The Charger I just bought at least has shoulder straps, but it still would be ugly God forbid getting hit head on. Great you guys weren't tragically injured.

I love to drive my old cars, even the lowly slants. I enjoy to hear the sound of the engine even of nothing but the 318 76 Roadrunner. I prefer to have a purpose in my drive, but if not, like said, I see the beauty of this world our Creator bestowed upon us. Same reason I walk down our country road every morning, just to see it all again.
Wife asks why I pull off the AC from the old Mopars??? I want to smell the fresh air even when it is too hot, and hear the sound of the engine even if a slant or 3118, or poly. Yea I rather have another 440 or 383 or 426 hemi, but....... I rather not be broke either! ha

Art Schmart. Drive it for the smiles. The smoke. The sound. The aroma. The fear. I fell sorry for those who don’t enjoy their cars.

That's my point. Some can enjoy their cars without driving them and I'm okay with that.

The TV show that Sonny was on made me think. A few people had cars that were passed down for generations. My two children are totally into old muscle cars. I hope some great-great-grandchildren of mine talk about my '69 Charger. I do drive it some as I do with all my cars but I hope it makes it for another 100 years in the family.

Why worry, it's not your car? Those people enjoy their possessions but you assume because it is not as "you do" they do not...Now thats sad.....

Dennis your one of the guys here I have utmost respect for and I hope next year I can enjoy my car even half as much as you enjoy yours.
You represent what the hobby is about for many of us.
You live life and obviously enjoy yourself. I wish you many many more years of enjoyment behind the wheel of your ride and only the very best of health and happiness

I do use this old girl.....every day

Not worried. Art should be hung on a wall. In 50 years, very few here will have the cars in their family. Like beloved family restaurants, when time for the “kids” to take over, most would rather sell. They want the cash. The smiles and joy of driving can’t be replicated by gazing or showing.

Well put Dennis. Im sure you have no negative opinions on what anybody chooses to do with their cars or any possession's for that matter.
You like to drive your car, it gives you a enjoyment you cant or wouldn't get by staring at it parked in a garage.
Its your opinion and I agree with you

I disagree......I thoroughly enjoy "gazing and showing" and limited driving of my cars......You enjoy them your way and that is fine and others enjoy them differently.....It is rather odd how you continue to press others as to what they should "do" with their property because you think they will enjoy it better...rather sad...

It's obvious that there is a true "dislike" of the certain members here one that had been banned a few times, another that lied about "not touching something up" and the OP who is clearly "butt hurt" over his views of haves and have nots.......These "things" are tailing your postings...Which is rather funny....Obviously, that has nothing to do with you.

I believe that you enjoy your car to the fullest based on your history here and thats great....I commend that!.....However, don't rain down on others parades because they have that same enjoyment. Just as you do but in a different way.....

These threads always come up and it always funnels to the OE crowd......Why is that? What has the OE crowd done to anyone here? The OE crowd and these high end restorers are what gave birth to parts availability.....

When will the "Bullit" charger being built get ripped on by you and the other "things"? That guy has double than what I put into the X if not more.....INHO the finest charger Resto mod being built.....I guess when he debuts it the comments will come here cracking on his "piece of art"....Meanwhile he laid out a detailed thread with tons of pictures and experience, how to's etc, similar to my build thread....What a way to thank members of the same hobby?

To each is own and worry about your own stuff......

OK, I pushed the check mark. Not worried about my own stuff either. I’ll try to wear it out or ruin it before departure.

I don't care if you "agree"......the dislike of "wall art" is offensive.....I am not the only one that has "wall art" and there are many here that never post....We are all one community....

Drive it in the ground because I do believe you will do that! Thats great, enjoy it your way my friend!

Not as bad as someone lying about "touching up something" which speaks miles........

I think we all get our moneys worth one way or another. I view someone answering the topic of this thread as expressing their own opinion and not trying to discredit or run down those who may not agree with them or share the same thoughts on the subject. I also don't think the OP was trying to instigate an argument of this vs that. Rather, sharing his own opinion and allowing us to agree or disagree with it.
