I believe everyone here is a fan of old shop equipment. I'm not familiar with that particular model, but I'll bet ya a beer it's made better than any China crap from Horrible Freight.

That's kind of why I'm looking at the vintage iron. The price is the same as a new one, but the quality of the parts are most likely superior to today's watered down alloys.
Plus the cool factory is there.
I'm looking at what appears to be a post 1956 model after they were bought by Rockwell.
I wonder if being bought out by Rockwell would make it lesser quality machine.

I bought a great used drill press , its 30 years old a general. paid 100$
it works great and has a self tighten chuck, best deal I got in a while.
An arbor press and a bench sander , I m always looking, 2 great tools

ME ME ME, im a huge fan of old machinery. Ive got a bench top Atlas drill press WW2 vintage. This press is rock solid and quality made.
Me too. 1936 Craftsman lathe and a Rockwell mill. Love them both.

Love the old shop equipment picked this Australian made heavy duty cast iron drill press for $100 fantastic working condition came from an old motor cycle shop was still in use but got decommissioned as it failed a tag test.Takes 4 grown men to move it but runs true and whisper quite has that art deco look to it id say it was made around late 1940's early 50's

Know what, I think my drill press is Walker-Turner. Im guna have to check. I know she is an oldie and a goodie.
