Extreme Violence Video Involves A Police Officer VS A Knife Wielding Subject

She didn't do bad under a high stress situation. I will assume by this video this was her first time using her gun out of range situation!
9mm are fast if there not hollow point they will go threw without issue unless a bone gets in the way . Guy was obviously on drugs he had that crack head power where he took a ton of shots before going down
I'm a believer in tactical ranges where you move, and shoot. Regular ranges are good for fundamentals.

Here is a perfect example of the real world

https://www.theatlantic.com/health/archive/2019/02/police-shooting-shot-16-times/582187/

For many years people have talked all that BS about .45 v 9mm and from a scientific stand point it makes sense, however people and bodies do not react as per science and many people have been shot repeatedly from a variety of calibers and survived, fought on, escaped, etc. Shot placement is the only sure way to ensure the results you are after.
Roger that! I have always said shot placement counts. People out their think they can hit somebody in a non vital area, and they will go down. I aim for center mass. You hit the pump, and the lungs, of course people think they can get a head shot. Shooting at a moving target is difficult much less going for the grape shot.

I loved going to the swat training ranges where you need to clear the houses shoot pop up ect . All my cop buddy's have retired and I can't get in anymore

Bummer. I wish somebody would start opening ranges like that. Learning to shoot in different positions, prone, supine, etc. Shooting while engaging targets, low light environments etc. Most importantly target identification.

The ranges are out there but not open to the public generally unless part of a class. Gunsight in AZ, Tier One in AR, etc. all have shoot houses but the liability is so high when teaching civilians that most will not get into it although some might.

I know of those places, and others like it. I just wish i had something close by. What would be interesting is teaching people to do solo room clearing, after all nobody will be operating with a team. Chances are you might be in a CQB situation by yourself. I am former military, and these stand up ranges are hardly stimulating, unless you see somebody with zero muzzle awareness. I have been to a couple of different ranges where I saw the result of this. I could see where a round hit the ballistic glass between shooting lanes.

Maybe you and 70chall440 can setup some training sessions and show us all how real hard@sses operate.

Sure, if you don't shoot yourself by accident. Who said anything about being a hardass ? There is only trained, and untrained. But, seeing how you have the Punisher logo as your avatar you are probably one of those wannabe Frank Castle's out there with their tacticool beard, and sleeve tats. I talk about tactical ranges because they make more sense. Like I said how many gun fights were you in? I mean you talk about .45 caliber like it's the magical man stopper that you think it is. Keep talking ****, no big deal Nancy. Sorry if I hurt your feelings.

Makes you wonder how it would have gone down if the LEO had a revolver. I guess it is hard to beat capacity when it is up close and personal. Speed loader's are not so speedy anymore.
Capacity or Accuracy??
Does anybody know if ''Black Talon'' ammo is legal to own/use yet?
I can't say I've seen any at shows or on Wal-Mart selves lately, it may have been years.

R.I.P.: Radically Invasive Projectile

BUT!!! you still have to hit the target area!!!

I'm really interested in what you guys observed and your thoughts on this incident. Open the video to Youtube to read the description.

That unfolded/escalated quickly. I was alarmed at how many shots were fired to take him down. Glad the officer is fine.

Someone needs a range day with Jerry Miculek. Terrible target aquisition. So busy back pedaling there is no time to fall into an aggressive stance and fire. This is what happens when cops watch other cops get fried on the 6 oclock news. They wait too long to decide fire/no fire, and sometimes it doesnt end this well. What should be going through her mind is her training. Not whether she backed up enough for the prosecuter, and will I lose my job.

Load em just about as fast as you can shoot em.

My fingers aren't as strong as they use to be... And my Sig mags take more force than allot of other mags... The ATS is super easy & fast... I can fully load a mag in under 10 seconds.... From the box into the mag....
