Love the car!
You're supposed to put the C-Clips on all the caps. This will help keep the caps from walking out of the straps on the rear yoke if it doesn't have retaining ears on it

Possibly nothing wrong with the straps, as pointed out above the caps need to have C clips on them or they're not staying in...
