How to Withdraw Large Amounts of Your Own Money (Cash) From Your Bank Account

Every Bank Wire goes thru the Feds, its effectively documented by default.
It used to be the Mafia running the wire service....where the hell did that all go so wrong.

The logic of that predicament in cash seizures of say less than $5k, is the cops know it will cost more than that to pay the legal fees to get the money returned, hence no one will bother and the $5K goes into the general police fund with no taxpayer oversight, meaning they can spend it anyway they want.
So they effectively have become thieves with legitimacy on their side.

I live in Central Canada. I get the same thing every time I try to withdraw MY OWN MONEY...not credit, not a loan...my own cash.

Most times after about 10 mins of going back and forth...I leave with the money in hand holding strong and not giving them the "purpose" for the money.

The last two times, after the same cross examining by the bank (where I have been a customer for 35 years) to withdrawl my own money...I spiel into a story that "I have met a young beautiful woman from a far off land online, and she really needs my help financially ,..blah blah yarn yarn...I keep going and going" and then I stop and say "are you getting all of this to enter in to the computer".....they eventually get the point and say no problem.

It's actually not funny...it's really none of their business.

There are consequences for who you choose to handle your funds or as leaders
I'll leave it at that...
You mean the leaders that passed the Patriot Act in 2001 that was allegedly targeting terrorism that the country widely supported, just to be accurate?
It's also called unintended consequences and/or mission creep.

Dave, I can help with that problem once you arrive!!
Brett, I'll be stopping by your booth. looking for parts for my 70 coronet convertible, as well as my 67 coronet and 71 Road Runner.

Carrying a lot of cash today is a financial risk, especially at an airport where you consent to a search by the nature of boarding a plane.
I figure most swap meet venders at carlisle don't except credit cards, so I will need cash on hand. I would hate to spend all the money to fly to Carlisle, find that elusive part I want or need but not have the cash to buy it.

Thanks for the advice. Thats what I plan to do.

Like I said, just take cash and if it's more than 10 grand declare it. Nothing they can do..
Wrong, do some research. No one is required or obligated to declare any amount of cash prior to seizure unless crossing US borders.
Although I suspect that declaration will be seen somewhat favorably by jury at a trial to win back your seized funds.

I don't need to research your countries stupidity... I assume he's getting on a Jet in Hawaii... boarding sign probably states declaration of funds over 10,ooo dollars like anywhere else boarding an international flight. Quite possible he's landing in Vancouver Canada first.. before PA.

Dadsbee gave good advice. I searched online for the forms to make the declaration, but could only find forms for US Customs. Since I'll be flying from Hawaii to Chicago then to PA I won't need to go through customs.

In theory, I shouldn't need to do anything. I fly at least once a week between islands for work, I Plan to stop by the TSA office and ask. Just don't need any hassles going through security.

I'm hearing an echo?

Dadsbee stated an assumption.

Why in the world would you contact TSA about and while cash carrying within our borders when your own research indicates you do not need to declare it?
All you need is one agent having a bad day to ruin yours, and for what?

what a farce ! i would withdraw all my money immediately and close the account. now you don’t have to explain anything! how’s that for an answer . there acting like you gotta get a note from someone to buy something, not gonna fly !!!

A few years ago, it was common to see some businesses with signs saying "no bills over $20.00 accepted". Today, a hundred barely buys one bag of groceries, yet some people are afraid of a hundred dollar bill.
Part of the reason for that is the prolific counterfeiting of the C note. It’s the most counterfeited single currency bill in the world. And some of these paper hangers are still damn good even with all the built in security measures w/I the bill itself. For me if I have more than $20 in my wallet that’s a lot.. I rarely use cash for anything. Just a personal preference.

Without turning this into a political debate. You are right, as an American I shouldn't have to.
I would rather check with TSA before, then go through a hassle at security and possibly miss my flight. Like you said in your post, "All you need us one agent having a bad day to ruin yours" Even if I'm within my rights.

This thread got me to thinking what i need to do with my bank account in regards to what i need to do, before i conk out, and get planted in this planet Earth.
I'm a bachelor, live alone, no wife, or kids, no family.
So, what happens to my cash that i have in my bank account, when i die, and not around anymore?
Need to set something up with the bank, letting them know, and get it onto their records, who i would like to get my money, when the time comes, when i conk out.
Always something for this old man to think about.
I do have a will made out, who gets my car, gold, guns, but didn't think of my cash.
I could get hit by a bus tomorrow, or keep on living for another 7 to 10 years.
Who knows, i'm currently 71.
It’s very simple - You simply reset your acct to a TOD acct. “Transfer on Death”. Name the party or parties (I’m available if you’re looking for volunteers) for the funds to be transferred to and the bank will do the rest on your passing.
