The care in my avatar came with a stroked and 30 over 440, about 500ci. Supposedly "mildly" worked heads, no I don't know what exact kind. 10.5:1 CR, but a pretty hefty cam: 590 intake lift 318 duration, 609 exhaust lift 324 curation, with a 112 lob seperation. It has a holley 850 double...
In the website https://over-drive-magazine.com/2023/11/19/1964-plymouth-mid-size-cars-fact-sheet/there are references to a 1964 426 "NASCAR" engine option, one with out "stage III" and the other with "NASCAR stage III". Assumption would be these are single four barrel version of the dual quad...
Hello fellow forum members. I had to get rid of my 67 R/T 4 speed due to left leg weakness after spine surgery. Bought the 64 Belvedere in the avatar yesterday. Fully restored. 496" stoker (71 block), auto, 3:55 Ford 9 inch rear. Getting delivered next week. Engine is a bit spicey with a...
This stamp is on a 67 R/T I am looking at on line. Where is this located? I have a 67 R/T (avatar pic) and have never seen this before. What does it indicate?
Looking this 1966 Coronet 500 (not R/T) on line. Says it has the original 440 engine rebuilt. But, the block is painted red not blue. And this dual snorkle air cleaner looks not correct with the unequal snorkle lengths. Also thought it should be black. Also to me the radiator inlet is also...
I am looking at a 1964 claimed 50th anniversary Polara 500 with a 426 street wedge, auto. Any idea about how many of these would have been made?
I see lots of posts about 1964 426 street wedge with 4 speed, but nothing about this one. Owner has a Chyrsler Registry letter indicating (screen...
67 R/T I recently bought had air shocks for some reason. Take out all the air, stance looks fine. Where would be the best place to get
some stock-type rear HD shocks?
So I got the factory tach on my 67 R/T to work, was a couple of loose/cut wires. But it runs off calibration, seems like about 30-35% to high. Not just a constant offset. 700 rpm idle measured by a timing light was ~1000 on the console tach. What I perceived as 3000rpm read about 4000, and...
So I think have read or watched 20+ articles on the ported vs. manifold distribution advance topic. In conclusion for a 67 R/T 440 4sp with a very mild
hop-up to the engine (aluminum intake, 1-up cam, Edel Performer, stock heads 10:1, stock manifolds, etc.)
1 - earlier AFBs including the...
Want to return my recently purchased 67 R/T to factory style wheels and poverty caps. Can't find any aftermarket 14" steelies. Can find 15" everywhere.
Any 14" and the 67 poverty caps available anywhere? Or so I have to peruse ebay all the time?
So now that all you smart folks have got me on the right track, I will be getting rid of my Holley. The numbers on the air horn were VERY faint and seemed slightly double stamped, but under a magnifier was 76750-2 and 3325. Probably means it is a 750 double pumper, but I can't find this model...
So for the ones following my threads about the no snorkle air cleaner.......went to replace the Holley with a Edel 1411 AFB Performer. Found this:
- the really nice Mopar aftermarket intake PN 5153235 is 2" higher than stock
- that necessitated a recessed air cleaner base so as not to hit the...
So what I have found in a few places, is that the oil breather nipple on the side of the air cleaner identifies this as a 68 piece that had the mandatory California "Cleaner Air System" or CAS. Or a 67 that had the CAS that was an option.
--> is there any way to tell from the fender tag if...
So the original carb I still have for my 67 R/T is an AFB with a 4 7/8" air horn. Currently has a Holley double pumper that has to go, but want to get something new vs. rebuild the AFB which I probably would screw up. Can't get a straight answer from the tech guys at either Jegs or Summit. Is...
So this is related to the air cleaner couple of threads. The Holley has to go. I can get an AVS 750 with electric choke, which was recommended by one reader.
Jegs has them in stock for $459. There are multiple "competition AFB 625cfm" on eBay, they supposedly have a 5 7/8 air horn also. Also...
Thanks folks for all your comments on my previous post about the no snorkle air cleaner. I am fairly new to Mopars, so don't know all the details, yet. For example I didn't realize the Holley on the car has a 5 1/8" air horn. Normal AFBs are 4 7/8". So the person who suggested this was an...
Just got a 1967 restored R/T. Everything works electrically except the clock (I know how/where to fix), the backup lights (again, know how to fix) and the
factory tack on the console, which is dead. Can anyone direct me to some kind of diagnosis information article about the tach?
Sold the 66 Hemi tribute and got a 67 R/T. Much easier to drive and enjoy. Original/rebuilt 440 and 4spd. I am cool with the E-brock intake, but previous owner swapped the AFB for a Holley. Ugh. Air cleaner has no snorkels. I have seen other claimed original 67 R/Ts with both single and...
