1970 Roadrunner Build

Final pieces of the brake system finished except for bleeding.

Radiator support black out finished and hood safety latch installed. I know it is not factory correct, but this is how the assembly line should have done it.

Dash and steering column parts sprayed in suede. The paint was expensive, but the look is factory.

I was waiting for that question! Ha! On the assy line the attaching bolts were left in and got paint. All my original low mile survivor Duster340 cars were same and I'm sure there were more. BUT...That was Hamtramck cars so don't quote me just yet. I would do a lil research first. Maybe someone here can fill us in?
 
I have heard that they were painted, but my train of thought was that if painted the assembly line person would have to unscrew them and then retighten after installing latch. It would be time consuming on the assembly line and also wouldn’t that have distorted the paint on the bolt heads??
 
Think of it this way..they didn't want to get paint into the threads which would have been worse
 
It would also be a good way of keeping track of the bolts.
