I'm getting close to painting the engine bay on my 70 Super Bee ( N96 car, 4 speed, non-AC, LA plant car) and I am wondering what holes are all there from the factory? I think I may have a few extra holes on the inner fenders and especially on the core support. I am wondering if anyone has any good pictures of 70 B body engine bays for me to reference? My engine bay is currently bare with nothing bolted on and is sandlblasted. Thanks!

-I also have a broken stud where the hood latch assy bolts on. Any suggestions on good ways to repair this broken stud? Or a source for new studs that look the same?

Well there’s 12 in the one side, 7 across the back 4 over here, 6 in that spot, ten more little ones over there and hmmm……. Lol kidding.

post a pic and knowledgeable folk can tell you which ones maybe shouldn’t be there if there’s extra…

:D yeah there are lots of holes for sure haha. I'll try and get some pics posted soon. This is my first mopar resto and I also bought the car as an empty body shell.

We love to help out where we can. But without pictures, we're only guessing.

Kiwi: I did ask for reference photos..

You guys asked for the pics. I think I may have welded up some holes for the 4 speed pedals by mistake. Car is actually originally a 383 auto car. The 4 speed conversion was started before I got the car.

Thanks for the Red X BTW....apart from not being a real 4-speed car, the only holes that stand out to me are on a single picture - and that is why we say you should put your pictures upon.

Your firewall has two holes that I don't believe are stock holes. All the remaining holes look fine to me.

Your car probably had an MSD or something under the dash and the wiring exited through the firewall.....of it might have been to do with a vacuum line or electronic ignition. Either way, those holes were not there at the factory.

Thanks for your feedback. I think the holes you have circled are factory though. I think the larger hole accepts a grommet for the N96 cable and the smaller hole you circled is for the ballast resistor. I added a picture I found on a ramcharger cable help thread on FBBO.

If that top one I circled is actually a screw head....it will be for the ballast resistor....it looked like a large hole to me.

Bottom one I circled must be an "On the chain hole" cut to order for the specific option of the N96 in that car.

Your car probably differs from the air-grabber hose hole that the Plymouth cars get - here is mine

Thanks 70NetRT that is helpful! I circled some of the holes that I am wondering most about. Appreciate any input, thanks!

I don't have some of those holes in the rad cradle. This is my brother's 70 Coronet. It has a 22 inch rad cradle and I believe it hasn't been touched.

As for your third pic, there should only be one screw hole there for the windshield wash jug (the one towards the back) There should be a second screw hole for the other end of the jug further back and a hole for the heater hose bracket screw.

Thank you! That got me all squared away. All extra holes are welded up now.

I painted the engine bay successfully. I also found that looking for images of 70 parts cars for sale helped me to identify what holes were factory. I was able to weld in a new stud and fix an insert as well. I painted during a cold snap in UT but all went well!
